SoCal woman adopted when she was orphaned as a toddler in Iran faces deportation Her father was an Air Force officer and a prisoner of war during World War II who was working as a defense contractor in Iran when he and his wife adopted the girl back in the 1970s.

My Iranian adoptee friend was able to discuss her DHS removal proceedings with the NBC affiliate in San Diego. Reminder to please keep her anonymous, for her safety and her case. 🥚

And maybe there needs to be independent psychological screening before donating sperm and eggs because in the aftermath of..all…that seems like a bad time to donate.

A screenshot of Rachel Dratch from SNL. She's a white woman with short dark hair and blue eyes, and she's making an awkward expression that implies, "Sorry I have to tell you this and ruin your good time. But also I'm kind of not sorry about it." I've added a subtitle that reads, "That's AI."

The potential for upheaval is precisely why economic elites wield AI as a weapon to threaten workers, even as we've seen time and again that AI cannot actually replace what humans do.

You can take these dynamics seriously without buying into the framing of the people doing the threatening.

I fear that men are about to do what men do. They are about to characterize any sober thinking about power as non-technical and therefore unserious.

We have seen this pattern over and over again in tech criticism. Women and people of color repeatedly lead on understanding tech changes.
