Access to water is a right - on #WorldWaterDay and every day. Yet nearly 1 in 3 people in the EU face water stress.

The European Parliament has updated rules to improve the quality of tap water and encourage reuse of treated wastewater to help prevent scarcity.

Satellites reveal widespread decline in global lake water storage Two-thirds of Earth's large lakes have decreased in volume over the past three decades.

The amount of water stored in more than half of the largest lakes and reservoirs worldwide is declining, a 2023 Science study found.
