🚰 Why do African countries depend on international donors to fix water issues? With better policies & management, Africa’s vast water resources could sustain its people. Stop outsourcing solutions—govern and lead! #WorldWaterDay #WaterForAll

🌊 African water laws exist on paper but not in reality. Corrupt officials divert funds meant for water infrastructure, leaving communities with dry taps. Policy without action is just a lie! #WorldWaterDay #EndWaterCorruption

💩 Africa’s leaders meet at global summits to “discuss” water security—yet millions still lack access. Where are the tangible policies? Where is the accountability? We need implementation, not endless conversations. #WorldWaterDay #WaterCrisis

đŸ›ïž Water policies in Africa favor corporations, not citizens. Governments are selling public water rights to private companies, making clean water expensive and inaccessible. When will we stop monetizing a basic human right? #WorldWaterDay #WaterForPeople

đŸš± African water policies are broken. Many countries have no clear strategy for climate resilience, rural access, or water conservation. Without bold reforms, the next war won’t be over oil—it’ll be over water. #WorldWaterDay #ActForWater

💧 Every drop counts.

Access to water is a right - on #WorldWaterDay and every day. Yet nearly 1 in 3 people in the EU face water stress.

The European Parliament has updated rules to improve the quality of tap water and encourage reuse of treated wastewater to help prevent scarcity.

My cyanotype print on multimedia paper, 11” x 14” with an image of lake water and bold sans serif text which reads “WATER IS LIFE.” The top is lighter, like it’s the surface of the water and there are a few pale spots, like bubbles rising in the otherwise blue water.

My 11” x 14” linocut print with map centred on the North Pole, showing most of Canada, Greenland, Scandinavia and Russia. Land is printed in pale green except for most of Canada and Alaska which looks like flames in yellows, oranges and reds. Over this in a sans serif font in black is printed “NO WATER NO LIFE”

Today is World Water Day. đŸ§Ș🐡Hosted by the UN, it’s a day to spur action on the world water crisis. Water is one thing none of us can live without. Access to clean water should be a human right, and something we guarantee in the environment for other life forms. đŸ§”1/

Digital illustration of a indigenous woman and her child sitting on the floor. She’s looking back and is wearing a grey bodycon dress with text that reads, ‘clean water is a human right.’ Behind her, a toddler is looking at you and is wearing a green striped shirt and green pants. Between them is a water bottle labeled ‘sink water’ filled with a brown liquid

This #WorldWaterDay, it's important to talk about the many communities, majority being on Indigenous reservations, that do not have clean water or proper water filtration infrastructure set up.

Happy #IWD2025 💚. This year’s theme is #AccelerateAction. At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158 - roughly 5 generations from now - to reach full gender parity. It couldn’t be more urgent to break down the systemic barriers that women face, & to create a future safe for all đŸ’Ș
