Finally got my own copy of Blair’s Lectures. Not quite a 1783 first edition, but having the complete text in one volume is much easier. This edition, printed in 1838, used to belong to the High School of Glasgow. #TeamRhetoric

Saw a complete set of Diodoros of Sicily Loebs for sale. 13 volumes for £130. Seriously tempted 🫠

Meta’s policy changes on fact checking need to be seen within the wider context of its current appalling state and Muskian descent into AI-generated bullsh*t.
I don’t use Facebook much, but when I log on I am suggested pages with names like “Reminiscing Britain” which posts pictures from the 70s with the caption “When Britain was proper British!”. A little homework shows they are mostly run from abroad and are designed to sow division.
Just spent some considerable time scanning two articles (80 pages on total), only to find that they are available online. O tempora!
Finally decided to take the plunge and join this app.
