The idea behind taking photos isn’t to document something exactly how everyone else might see it. That would be, frankly, boring. If you’ve ever enjoyed photography simply as art, you’re not expecting to see it exactly IRL. Are you? Or are you appreciating the artists unique vision?

Photography often enhances the view beyond what a casual observer might see with the naked eye. If a photographer sets up just the right camera settings and the right time of day to capture a unique image, if you go to the same spot later and expect to see the same thing, have you been misled?

Anyway mostly my point was that people aren’t deliberately trying to fake it, they’re just excited to share what they saw with their camera.

Nah I’ve taken video and photos myself and it’s just that modern phone cameras capture way more light and color than we can see with the naked eye. This past year North America saw a lot more activity than usual so we’ve been flooded with a lot of vibrant images. I don’t think ppl are trying to fake
