Love this “save the boundary waters for the loons” banner in the @truenorthelite.bsky.social section at the #MNUFC game tonight
Beat Pokémon Fire Red on the switch. Although I am the new Kanto League champion I remind myself that I still gotta catch them all and be the best that I can be. See you out there trainers 🫡
I think my dog is broken
Earlier this month, Luis was abducted by ICE on his way home. Unfortunately, his daughter witnessed this. He has been released but still needs support for ongoing legal costs.

America, land of the subscription fee.
DHS agents are still here in our community in plain clothes scouting out immigrant owned businesses on Central, knocking on neighbors doors, swapping out licenses plates in cars without registration, and driving dangerously in our community.
This is a powerful letter from Minneapolis Legislative Delegation asking Mayor Frey to sign Pause Evictions, Save Lives.
16/17 state legislators who represent Minneapolis signed onto this letter. It’s time for Mayor Frey to sign this ordinance and support our immigrant neighbors.
We don’t have money to house people, or pay people’s rents or keep schools open and safe from masked goons but we have money for a cop training facility? For what? MPD failed to keep Minneapolis safe and two people died for their failure and our schools were raided.

The hood loves @jchavezmpls.bsky.social. He might go down as the greatest ward 9 city council member ever. He shows up for the good and the bad, defends the most sacred and does the work with his people. We couldn’t have asked for a better leader during this time.
Hear directly from Aliya Rahman, who was brutally pulled from her car and assaulted by ICE on her way to a doctor’s appointment, on the importance of extending the pre-eviction notice to 60 days. We are proud to have passed this policy today and are calling on Mayor Frey to sign it immediately.
The U.S killed kids today. Earlier than a year it killed its own civilian’s. Organize now because this administration is not going anywhere.
There’s an increase of activity in and out of the Whipple building this morning. If you have capacity, please observe in your neighborhood and help alert our neighbors of any ICE presence.

This, I hope more politicians realize the inherent power and neccesity of community and remember that when they cast votes.
The ACLU says there’s still 597 ICE agents in Minnesota. Abductions are still happening and families are still sheltering in place but rent is due. Last month we prevented 365 evictions and we can dot att again with your help. Donate to protect your neighbor

I need to address this immediately, because I am WAY too Minnesotan to ever claim credit for this.
I built a thing to point the fire hose of people's generosity in the right direction. That's it.
I am thankful for the piece, because hopefully it means people will donate more money.
I will never ever not be so proud of East Phillips. Strongest, most resilient neighborhood in Minneapolis
Children are in prison camps while pedophiles control our government and protect each other. This is America.

And MPD is collecting historic overtime payouts and for what? They didn’t stop any murders and schools were raided.
Whatever happens with Operation Metro surge there needs to be accountability of our law enforcement. Let’s remember this all started when right-wing influencers came to our state (with assistance from the MN GOP) to target Somali daycares and film children. Our cops didn’t protect kids and look.
March rent is still due for our neighbors sheltering in place. While our mayor is on a faux victory press tour, and our governor is discussing “rebuilding”, ICE is still in our streets kidnapping folks. Help keep them safe by donating to the Phillips Fund. www.gofundme.com/f/support-ph...
We don’t need a celebration we need to abolish ICE and get justice for those murdered and for those whose rights have been violated and return our neighbors. Reminder the Roman Colosseum was a propaganda machine that enforced hierarchy and was a distraction from living standards. Stay focused MPLS.
“You ever stop to think how much more smoothly Minneapolis politics would function if Jacob Frey could be just like 15% less of a dick?”
I do. I do indeed.
At the end of the day no amount of theory or posturing changes the reality that our economy is on the brink. Tough decisions will be made at the capital this year. I’m praying we do enough and get enough passed even with the slim majority.
Aftermath? Patience is right, this has nothing to do with immigration and everything to do with elections and the GOP trying to secure total control of our government. ICE is the enforcement arm that is being trained to suppress votes and ultimately the American people. So far from over.
America always attacks BIPOC communities when it feels like they are economically rising. Operation Metro Surge is just the modern day fire bombing on the economic infrastructure of the Latinx community in Minneapolis. Those in power need to show their racists follower they are getting a better deal
Right wing politics stem decades long. Its racists, anti-immigrant,-anti-black, anti-union, less regulatory and pro business talking points have taken a long time to become mainstream in American politics. The left or Democrats need to get adjusted and say things like abolish ICE. It’s a long fight.
Don’t let your survival instincts overshadow the need for organizing to break the feds control. Yes we need to keep people house and fed but our tactics must change. This cannot be a new normal and it will if we are not careful.
