Hi Everyone, sorry I haven't posted for ages. Shortly after I lost my Mum at Xmas, my Dad also died - on the day after my Mum's funeral of all days. I will be back here, just taking time for myself. Thanks 😃

If you still have a Mum, give her a hug or a text tonight. As of yesterday, I can't do that anymore - and I wish I could so very much.

Good to see you have integrated. This will help you when Farage takes power.
As a German, don't you have to wait until the 24th?

After almost exactly five years, I've finally completed a first draft of my book on crime in East Germany! Still a long way to go with editing, adding, and amending, but feels like an achievement atm :-)

Thanks, I thought so. My Russian is limited to phrases I've read in books about German soldiers on the Eastern Front... 'Dawei bistre' featured quite a lot when they wrote about being in Soviet POW camps!
Can anyone help please? I have a phrase in one of my Stasi files- 'Nu dawei weg'. Is it a mix of Russian and German basically meaning 'go away' ? That would fit the context. Thanks
I thought that, too 🤣
