Posts by Automated Lists

Hey, just wanted to say that there's no automated way for this account to determine whether a Bluesky account is controlled by a human, so that is not at all a threshold for being added to the modlists. Some very definitely human people are on the list (including Faine)

It just means that you follow over 5,000 accounts - some folks prefer not to interact with people who follow over 5k, or 7k, 10k, etc. So some people will mute or block folks on the 5k, 7k, etc lists.

the UnverifiedOver5K list.

You can either be verified via the Bluesky company (or one of their delegates), to which I don't know anything about how you do that, or you can do a domain verification, see: bsky.social/about/blog/4...

As a note, though, you will still be on the Over5K list, which some people use instead of

The reason that I host these lists on this account is that I, and some other users, prefer to not interact with accounts that follow “a lot” (there’s different thresholds) of accounts.

Bluesky allows what they call “composable moderation” - users are allowed to create and share and use various forms of moderation that they find useful. This includes labelers and modlists. Modlists can be used to mute or block the accounts on them.

yeah should be pretty doable, give me a few days

I could add a 50k if there’s anyone who would be interested

A lot of them aren't bots! I uh have to make that very clear, due to a...plethora...of DMs I get 🙃

Yes. On Clearsky, it says you are not on the Unverified lists (look at clearsky.app/doelf.eurosk... ). I think the Listifications notice is no longer accurate. You are not on the lists from your screenshot.

How to get removed: you don't need to bother about this, but if you prefer to be removed from these lists, follow fewer people and you will be removed automatically.

How it affects your account: some people prefer not to interact with accounts that follow a lot of other accounts, so they will use a modlist hosted by this account to mute or block.

This account runs automatically maintained moderation lists with preset thresholds for the number of accounts being followed. A quick glance shows you follow >10,000 accounts and are unverified, so you should be on I think 6 modlists.

Just so you know, the higher threshold lists should be a strict subset of the lower threshold lists, so there’s no particular gain to blocking all three. No real harm either, just more for you to look through if you’re ever trying to figure out why someone’s blocked

It's more like (over10k following AND (bsky dot social OR otherwise verified)). There's not a ton of folks who are verified but don't have a custom domain, but there's a few

Understood. I wanted to make sure the feature request was not “Bluesky verified, no custom domain” which would be a weird ask

Thanks for the feature request. It seems reasonable, but would it be fair to say “Bluesky verified, domain ignored”?

Hi! I’m sure you’re a real account. The lists make no differentiation along those lines, they are solely threshold modlists for people who prefer to not interact with accounts that follow a lot of people

Hi, the lists hosted on this account do not take into account ratios, they are simple threshold lists.

If you'd prefer to not be added to the threshold modlists maintained by this account, sure avoid doing follow for follows. But Bluesky is designed to let people use it in different ways, so you should feel free to continue using it as you have, if you prefer.

Hi, you follow over a certain threshold of accounts and have been added to modlists used by people who don’t want to interact with people who follow a lot of accounts.

If the number of accounts you follow ever drops below the thresholds, however, you should be automatically removed. Please DM this account if that does not happen.

Hi, I apologize for not replying in Korean. Because the lists I host use objective criteria and do not claim that any users are bots, it is unlikely that reporting these lists will result in them being taken down.

I desperately wish Bluesky would let you override a modlist by following accounts or something, so annoying that you can’t

Hi, Tricia. The list you linked is a modlist and so is only useful for blocks and mutes, not as a starter pack. Sorry!

4 months ago 1 0 1 0

Hey just a note, all but one of those lists are based on the number of accounts being followed, not how many followers they have.

If that’s truly the threshold you want, not as useful for you (but I do take feature requests)

“I wanted to ask Jeff why I was on this blocklist but he blocked me”

😶

I use the Over5K modlist as a blocklist on my main account and I find it leads to a broken thread I care about like maybe once a month.

It does lead to confusion on the part of people who get blocked sometimes

Charlie Jane was the reason the Unverified list was updated to account for Bluesky verification, and should be off the list now

Sorry, I use the Over5K list as a blocklist on my main account, which is why I leave this account's DMs open.
