$1,000 to the first person who can prove, with a spreadsheet and public sources, that 8M+ attended a No Kings protest on 3/28/26 or 7M+ attended on 10/18/25. One entry per location, no duplicates, with source links and low/high estimates where applicable. No guesses; just proof. #NoKings #NoBS

I question the claim that 8 million people attended the March 28, 2026 #NoKings protests. The coalition uses an undisclosed formula to estimate overall totals, and its last three formula-based totals were well above what independent researchers could verify from public sources. #NoKings #NoBS
The first Earth Day, on April 22, 1970, had a documented 20 million participants. There are crowd counting methods that organizers can learn and they can have “defensible” crowd counts and point to the methods they used. There’s a difference between estimating and using an unknown formula
I don’t doubt all that is true. I’m doubting the 8 million claim. The coalition says March 28, 2026 was the “single largest day of nonviolent action in U.S. history,” but the 8 million figure appears to be a model-based estimate rather than a verified count.
I wasn’t sure where 8 million was coming from. If it’s coming from the No Kings Coalition or Alt National Parks services, I question its validity. I hope there were more but it’s hard to tell with so much misleading information being thrown around by organizers
The Crowd Counting Consortium (CCC) out of Harvard University and the University of Connecticut. They are more reliable because they publicly state how they calculate crowd counting totals. They have been doing it for years and are independent. They don’t exaggerate for self-serving purposes.
There have been 4 national No Kings day protests: 1) February 17, 2025 (No Kings on President’s Day), 2) June 14, 2025, 3) October 18, 2025 and 4) March 28, 2026. The first one is often overlooked but it happened.
The No Kings Coalition uses a formula to project total number of participants and their formula is always over what independent researchers count when looking at public records. I doubt there were 8 million participants yesterday. No Kings coalition refuses to correct their numbers
How is No Kings the biggest protest in U.S. history?
There have been 4 national No Kings day protests: 1) February 17, 2025 (No Kings on President’s Day), 2) June 14, 2025, 3) October 18, 2025 and 4) March 28, 2026. The first one is often overlooked but it happened. The No Kings Coalition is erasing the origins of the name and national day of action
The No Kings Coalition uses a formula to project total number of protesters on each national day of action. Their formula has always over estimated compared to independent researchers who use public sources to calculate totals.
FACT CHECK: There have been 4 national No Kings day protests:
1) February 17, 2025 (No Kings on President’s Day),
2) June 14, 2025,
3) October 18, 2025 and
4) March 28, 2026.
The first one is often overlooked but it happened and should be included.
Some are rewriting history #NoKings #NoBS
National indivisible uses a formula to project a total number of protests during each national day of action and their formula always over estimates compared to the Crowd Counting Consortium (CCC) they used public sources. I doubt 8 million people protested in USA yesterday.
Where are you getting the 8 million number from?

Accurate reporting matters for media, researchers, and the public.
The goal isn’t spin; it’s clarity.
If movements want trust, their numbers should be transparent, consistent, and clearly labeled. #NoKings #NoBS
Transparency matters. The public deserves to know when protest turnout numbers are projections not publicly sourced counts. No Kings Day formula-based project totals have been announced which greatly differ from independent crowd counts show. Accurate reporting matters! #NoKings #NoBS
January 20, 2017,the first Women’s March, was the largest single-day of protests with up to 5.3million participants recorded by the Crowd Counting Consortium (CCC).The Women’s March is one of many groups apart of the No Kings coalition which claims 10/18/25 was the largest protest day which is wrong
Also, a small but key fact: the first No Kings Day was Feb 17, 2025 (President’s Day) meaning today, Mar 28, 2026, is the *4th*, not 3rd, No Kings Day. #NoKings
✅ Movements built on accountability need accurate reporting.

These numbers go out at 5 p.m. Eastern time, *before* protests wrap up nationwide. Later, publicly sourced counts show smaller totals:
📅 4/5/25 – “3M” claimed→ Crowd Counting Consortium (CCC): 939K–1.5M
📅 6/14/25 – “5M+” claimed→ CCC: 2–4.8M
📅 10/18/25 – “7M” claimed→ CCC: 3.1–4.1M
Transparency matters:The No Kings coalition has been reporting formula-based participation totals for each national #NoKingsDay without widely saying they’re formula-based. And each No Kings Coalition announced participation totals has been much higher than what CCC later confirms via public record
PREDICTION: The No Kings Coalition is going to announce participation rates for 3/28’s No Kings Day protests at 5pm Eastern on Saturday. That number is likely to be tens of thousands or millions less than what the Crowd Counting Consortium (CCC) eventually releases. No Kings uses a formula! #NoKings
This is a “vault” in Obsidian. This is 4-5 days worth of solo work. I used @bekahdayyy.bsky.social ‘s TikTok videos and substacks to create this sample. www.tiktok.com/t/ZP89nrs2j/
I personally believe the single largest protest day was January 20, 2017 the first Women’s March. I’m concerned the No Kings Day coalition has inflated its estimates and the numbers the Crowd Counting Consortium (CCC) had for those days were hundreds of thousands if not millions less. It’s a shame
Why are so many people connected to Jeffrey Epstein also connected to Harvard University? It makes me wonder if I can trust some of the research that I’ve valued so much over the years, etc
No Kings 10/18 day the coalition reported 7 million but the Crowd Counting Consortium(CCC) could only confirm 3.1-4.1 million in public sources. That’s less what CCC confirmed for 6/14 No Kings which was 2–4.8 million. No Kings 6/14 day the coalition reported as “over 5 million”
