Vibe Vulning: How Uncontrolled AI Code Generation Introduces Insecurity We now seem to have reached the era of "vibe vulning,” a high-risk practice where developers accept AI-generated code based on “vibes” rather than analysis and verification. Letting AI assistants writ...

The “S” in MCP Stands for Security Spoiler: it doesn’t. But it should.

The current hot thing in the agentic-LLM world is Model Context Protocol (MCP), a specification that makes it easy to chain gen-AI systems into larger workflows. But unsurprisingly this also makes it very easy to sleepwalk into data exfiltration attacks and other security issues.

A political cartoon satirizing cybersecurity policy. It shows a scene with three characters in business suits: a bear (representing a foreign hacker) holding a laptop displaying the Kremlin, a person sitting at a desk signing "CISA BUDGET CUTS," and a Shiba Inu dog (representing Dogecoin/cryptocurrency) labeled "DOGE DEPT." The bear is saying "PAY 100,000 DOGE OR YOUR CYBERSECURITY BUDGET GETS IT," portraying a ransomware threat. The setting is outside "CISA HEADQUARTERS" (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency). The title at the top reads "When foreign hackers and domestic policies collaborate: The art of the (cyber) deal," suggesting that budget cuts to cybersecurity agencies effectively aid foreign threat actors.

This illustrates our cybersecurity dilemma: as threats become more sophisticated, we cut funding for our cyber agencies. The irony is we end up paying, just later in the game and a higher price. When will we learn that not funding cybersecurity is the most expensive option?
