I am pro-shoplifting but anti-talking about it to the New York Times, so this has been a hard day for me.
Republicans loved gerrymandering as long as their opponents were committed to fair maps. Now that Dems are responding in kind, conservatives aren’t having as much fun. But the only thing worse than constitutional hardball is unilateral constitutional hardball. (🎁) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

oh no republicans not your petard, no dont hoist no stop not your own petard bros
You ever try to code switch at work and fail? 😂
The GOP entered this redistricting under the rather childish delusion they were going to gerrymander, and nobody would gerrymander them. In TX, MO, and a half dozen other states, they put their rather naive theory into operation. They sowed the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind
The US is going to need 1 national timezone, China style, to remedy this disgrace.
I have the utmost respect for Senator Kaine and Senator Warner but we do not need “coaching” on redistricting coming from a cuck chair in the corner. How about you all stay focused on the fascist in the White House and let us handle redistricting in Virginia. 10-1
Matt Damon playing a 14th century French knight that looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Mullet. Beard. Smells like horse shit, pine tar, and cigarette smoke.
Matt Damon while playing Odysseus who also looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Long, skinny beard. Smells like horseshit, pine tar, and perhaps Mediterranean herbs.
Matt Damon playing a 19th century cowboy that looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Mustache. Shaggy hair. Smells like horse shit, pine tar, and definitely chewing tobacco.
Every time Matt Damon takes on a period role he ends up looking like a third baseman for the Phillies.
Congratulations, Virginia! Republicans are trying to tilt the midterm elections in their favor, but they haven’t done it yet. Thanks for showing us what it looks like to stand up for our democracy and fight back.
Iran please let me post
The meta story of the (imminent) Yes win in VA is the total inability of Trump to ever look down the game tree. He was apparently unable to comprehend that Democrats would respond to his push to redistrict in GOP-run states
This same pehenenon is also why we are losing a war to Iran.
Build monuments to George Marshall.
Toss Colonel Robert Lee in the dumpster where he belongs.

BREAKING: Virginia voters have approved a Democratic redistricting plan that could allow the party to pick up as many as four new seats in the midterm elections, NBC News projects.
Let's fucking go!!!!!!
LEAD CHANGE: Fairfax County reports more votes, and puts the "yes" ahead.
The 'yes' now leads 50.3% with 49.7%, a lead of 15K.
More importantly: Half of Fairfax County, where the 'yes' is leading by 80K votes at the moment, remains to be counted.
Since images are not generating at the moment, I'm going to guess that this is a case of raw vote count v betting markets.
With this likely being a scenario where the betting market approach has the most merit.

The strait is fully open to commercial traffic, as long as they're willing to use the safe lanes with an escort to avoid the mines, shoals, and Porphyrio the whale, submit to health and safety inspection, scrape their hulls to avoid invasive species, and keep their spacing.

Definitely a case of:
Trump fearing the consequences of prolonged war v. Trump fearing the consequences of a peace agreement that makes him look weak.
one thing i'm pretty certain of is that no one currently working in elected politics is prepared for the ways that our politics are going to change when hundreds of thousands of upper middle class, educated tech workers are getting laid off and rehired as contractors for ~60% of the pay
Thankfully the 1924 DNC is more than 100 years ago now.
Only way was up after that.
