These days, my comfort rereads include The House in the Cerulean Sea (TJ Klune), Red White & Royal Blue (Casey McQuiston), Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Becky Albertalli), Heartstopper (Alice Oseman), Restart After Coming Back Home (Cocomi), and Our Dining Table (Mita Ori).

That has to have been it. 😩 Maybe I can handle it now. Or maybe if I’d read it as a kid, since I seemed to handle The Neverending Story just fine back then.

Also, I read The Goose Girl years ago and I only remember it made me sad. 😢 But so many people talk about how they love it so, which is inspiring me to read it again and see if it hits differently at this time in my life.

Casa Isabel, just off California Ave in Palo Alto, CA. My favorite dish: enchiladas poblanas (chicken with mole sauce).The rice was soft, fluffy, delicious. I ate there weekly when I worked blocks away, and we even had our wedding rehearsal dinner there. It closed over 10 years ago and I miss it.
