I've been slowly reemerging from a news blackout since the election - taking baby steps - but seeing this guy tonight sent me scurrying back to TCM.

I saw that first show when it first aired and remember thinking "What the hell are these puppets doing on this show?" Out of sync with the tenor of the show, and decidedly unfunny. The broadcast two days ago of that original show confirmed what I felt back then.
