So bottom line, everyone’s approach is different, but the aim is, just write Something. Put butt in chair and write, even if all you’re typing is “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” You can revise it later, whether you call it a vomit draft or a writing outline or whatever. Keep. Writing.

I try to flesh out every scene, character beats, ideas I have about theme… just not in script format. Word doc format! And then after revising that writing outline, adding dialogue ideas and such, I finally throw it into Final Draft. Because for me, if it’s a script it feels harder to revise

I go to script from an approved outline. Depending on the show, lots of details and problems are not worked out in the outline. Scenes aren’t worked out. Sometimes Just: a light sketch of here’s what happens plot- or character-wise. So I go through and write what I call a writing outline.

I can’t do a “vomit draft” to get things started. Writing lines I know are shit fills me with self-loathing. But I what I think is the same thing with a more positive ( to me) spin: I write a very, very detailed outline. As a tv writer— 1/?

The FBI Director Is MIA Kash Patel has alarmed colleagues with episodes of excessive drinking and unexplained absences.

No previous American president, in any era, of any party, would have tolerated a drunken, erratic, absent FBI chief

Trump's war on the public's right to know President Trump threatens to jail a journalist over Iran war reporting, while a federal judge rules twice that the Pentagon's press restrictions violate the First Amendment. From Watergate to Abu Ghraib, government leaks have been the sources for some of the most consequential reporting. Now, the Trump administration insists the public doesn't have the right to know.

Shawn Harris is great and he is going to lose 60/40. Why is every MSNOW journalist trying to pretend otherwise? Special election was about 60% of the vote for the Rs and about 40% for Harris and a couple other Ds — as Ali reported election night. Really misleading to imply Harris has a shot, Ali.

It’s not a major warning sign for MAGA. I wish it were. There were several R candidates who split the vote, and a couple on the D side. This will be a 60/40 race, with Harris (D) on the bad side.

Don’t lie to people. It destroys your credibility, @meidastouch.com

Reeeaally looks like you fast-forwarded the walk to the ambulance. Disrespectful. Please don’t do it again.

@stephruhle.bsky.social Thank you for sharing the dignified transfer of Sgt Pennington tonight… but did you speed up the vid so the soldiers were walking him to the ambulance faster?? It sure seemed like you did. (It was on Rachel at normal speed.) Not cool.
