Looking for a postdoc position and attending AACR in San Diego? I'll be there, too, and the lab is actively recruiting! Send me an email with your CV and cover letter, and I’ll follow up if there is a mutual fit. See more about our research at airdlab.com.

Join us for the 2026 NYAS Cancer Metabolism conference on March 24th at NYU Langone! The poster deadline is rapidly approaching. Speakers include @airdlab.bsky.social @bensahralab.bsky.social Javier Garcia-Bermudez, Marcus Goncalves, @naama-kanarek.bsky.social @bdmanning.bsky.social Erika Pearce,
Excited to share the Ovarian Cancer Research Syndicate line-up of speakers for the fall. Please share. We have amazing trainees presenting and the latest from leaders in the field.

We are also actively recruiting postdocs. If you are getting ready to graduate- consider Philly! It is a great place to live and to do impactful science. Check out our website for more information on our work on the intersection of metabolism and the cell cycle in cancer: airdlab.com
My lab at The Wistar Institute is recruiting on multiple levels!
We are looking for a research technician and/or senior lab manager to help support all lab projects. Cell culture, molecular biology, and animal handling expertise and 3+ years of experience needed. Apply here: lnkd.in/ecvdTwkf
Big day for multiple lab members who celebrated a promotion! Congrats to Apoorva Uboveja for promotion to Staff Scientist and Aidan Cole for starting as a postdoc! I am now a full professor too 🤓 Want to learn more about our science or join the lab? Visit Airdlab.com
In the second, we discovered that cisplatin drives ovarian cancer metastasis through a metabolic cross-talk between senescent cancer cells with non-senescent cancer cells. We identified fructose as the upstream driver of this phenotype. First author Dr. Cole just defended!
In the first, @raquelbuj.bsky.social discovered that tumors can respond to anti-PD1 without T cells! Mechanistically, this is through a zinc-dependent increase in macrophage phagocytosis, and this is driven through cancer cell CDKN2A-mediated zinc compartmentalization.
The summer has been busy! Along with the move and a PhD defense, we have updated two preprints:

Thanks! There are so many great scientists (including you!) I am looking forward to interacting with!
Our excellent technicians are staying on at Pitts. We are actively recruiting to fill those positions. If you or someone you know is located in Philly and looking for a position, please share: jobs.dayforcehcm.com/en-US/wistar...
I could not be more excited to finally announce that my lab will be moving to The Wistar Institute in Philadelphia in early September! While this is somewhat of a homecoming for me, it is a new adventure for the 6 lab members moving with me! More details to come about new roles and opportunities!
Thank you for organizing this! I’ve enjoyed it every year!
Our preprint by @raquelbuj.bsky.social was highlighted! What a cool idea to give early career scientists the opportunity to practice peer review skills! See the updated preprint: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1....
Thank you for highlighting our preprint!
I look forward to voting against you in the primary.
Finally got through! Keep calling! 202 224 4254
Anyone else having trouble contacting Fetterman? I’ve tried both his DC and Pittsburgh office numbers, and it keeps disconnecting
The fact that he doesn’t have an aide to brief him on these topics tells you all you need to know. I’ve called and emailed many times.
This is a terrible take. I voted for a progressive democrat yet you are now seemingly a republican puppet. Your constituents want you to vote no!
I never imagined needing to care about the federal registry. This is the worst timeline
I need to write my PO, but I just feel so bad bothering her. 😥
That sucks. I’m so sorry
Thank you. So many labs and trainees are in worse positions. It’s devastating
Yep I had a 1% that was supposed to be in council today. Great times we live in
The problem is that they are not able to hold meetings to decide which grants to fund now. It’s very good news that NIH took a stand, but what about the future of scientific discovery?
Bluetorial: The rationale for the “NIH” indirect cost “plan” is based on misunderstood (unintentional or intentional) accounting and math
