Pro tip for anyone watching NBA on Peacock: if you threaten to cancel your subscription, they will offer you a deal of $2.99/month for six months.
The price of two Costco hotdogs a month to watch the Olympics, SNL, playoff basketball, SNB, and SNF? That's a steal for me
What could this mean for their planned data centers in Ogdenville, Brockway and North Haverbrook?
A Forbes article about a father who killed eight children, with an embedded prediction widget inviting people to speculate on whether "Congress will pass new gun safety legislation before 31st December 2026"
ghoulish
good morning!!!!
The level of owned this is ESPECIALLY coming from a Betazoid
Now sure you can't dig into every post you see but my point is that there are often easy ways to tell someone's intentions based on, yknow, their other posts. If you're not sure where someone is coming from on something, you can probably figure it out!
Now the person calling them out responded basically "who can say either way" but two seconds of looking at the person's profile showed:
- recent lgbt supportive posts
- the fact that they aren't a native English speaker and very easily could have not known possible other connotations
The person calling them out thought they were calling LGBT people predators
But it was clear to me that, because of the rainbow lobster's creepy mandible mouth, they meant like...a gay version of The Predator
I once saw a prominent member in another community recommend blocking someone for homophobia. They quoted a post with a photo of a rainbow colored lobster and joked about it being the "lgbt predator"
God I wanna go on a side tangent about "just actually look at a situation like at all", I wanna tell a story about a terrible knee jerk reaction that could easily have been avoided
This applies to bot behavior too
Yes, some bots post divisive political posts
You know who else does
Normal people who believe those things
Bots will have other clues they're bots, look at the big picture. But no, people want to just write everyone they disagree with as bots because it's easier
This happens constantly online you have to learn to stop thinking like this
Hating Obama for drone strikes isn't the same as hating Obama for being black
And yes some people will use one as a smokescreen for another but sorry you have to use your whole noggin and think about the situation fully
Like remember when a queer reviewer didn't like TLOU2 for totally normal game reasons and people piled tons of hate on them because somewhere else in the world transphobes hated it for having a trans character
One thing people need to get better at is understanding "[bad group] hates [thing] for [bad reason]" doesn't in turn mean " hating [thing] means you're part of [bad group] and must hate it for [bad reason]"
I can't tell if this is supposed to be like an oni horn or a kewpie doll
r/camping 5y ago [deleted] When are bears most active? So googling "bear calendar" gave me amazing calendars full of grizzly hairy men. I'm buying those too but I didn't have my question answered.

I have to wonder if a lot of Kagi users just never looked at Kagi News because I rarely see this mentioned
They may be doing some A/B testing because I haven't seen a lot of chatter about it but the chatter I have seen seems to have been yesterday and exactly one week prior
If your tipping point is Google rewriting headlines, Kagi replaces news with AI entirely, out of a belief you shouldn't read news articles and that AI can rewrite news to be unbiased. So if the ethics of butchering journalism is the problem Kagi does that a lot worse.
Have fun explaining to your parents that they weren't hacked everyone
Its also a separate account, has its own username (that it's just making for you using your real name) and everything
And yes it's literally just visiting and not clicking anything, I didn't even have time to read anything on the page before hitting back and it made an account for me
Okay I'm not going insane I opened IMDb for two seconds, literally opened then hit back in the browser, and suddenly it told me I created an account that had my abbreviated name as the username and everything, I've never fucking experienced this on a website before
