I think a concern is going to be that people sometimes mistake genuine art for AI. So with a set of popular artists leaving, even if they do hire new people, those new artists may get wrongly accused of being AI generations due to that high suspicion of business and AEW doing it once in the past.
Admittedly I don't know the ins and outs of the contract stuff but even if they are splitting from PWTees, not bringing over a really acclaimed set of artists feels like a massive misstep. It was the most consistent set of designs from a wrestling company I'd ever seen.
