Wanted to play the game Pharaoh (1999) on 15 y/o Thinkpad under Linux. But it doesn't support widescreen res by default.
The mod for widescreen needed a shader that couldn't compile on the iGPU because it was too old.
Claude Opus 4.7 wrote a CPU-compiling shader to insert there instead.

And to be absolutely fucking clear. These are not exaggerations. I've seen the most hashtag Peace Love Understanding Respect people I know say that firebombing houses of anyone supporting AI is justified.
The most worrying aspect is the number of people embracing political violence, the number of people embracing so-and-so "deserves" to be bullied / harassed / assaulted / raped / murdered.
These are not leftist principles. They make the world more fascist, no matter how supposedly noble the cause.

Like, what does it say about anti-AI positions if such an immanent truth has to be sold so hard to its adherents?
I wish I was exaggerating this position. But even on Adam's show, he will occasionally recognize an objective fact that doesn't fit in with maximalist anti-AI dogma and he will get called a shill in hundreds of comments.
"Literally everyone agrees with me and we've excommunicated everyone that didn't" is a really bad place to start for any sort of sober, insightful analysis.
I think online anti-AI folks forget that there is a whole world of people that can’t simply be shouted and memed into having the supposedly correct position on AI.
Like. How many personal users are there between Anthropic, OpenAI, and the rest? Are those billions being “sold” something?
What does constantly maximized utilization of AI infrastructure, infrastructure that can’t be built fast enough for demand, indicate if not success?
I think there is a delusional spiral happening where all the signs of an incredibly popular and successful technology have been twisted to fit a narrative rather than updating any priors. AI isn’t successful therefore any signs of its success are actually signs of how unsuccessful it is.
