Last yr, my APP2 colleague was having trouble w/ the VdeG generator. I assumed it was b/c it was too humid.
Now that I teach APP2, I realize it doesn't have a belt!!

I'm thrilled to report that I found an amazing colleague to come on board. Turns out, he had been waffling around with retiring from public school, but wasn't ready to stop teaching.

Any of you finding a gambling problem amongst your student population. Has your school attempted to deal with it? How so? Any positive results?
My Tests contain 10-12 MC Qs, all of AP level difficulty. They WILL get some wrong. Later, I let them collaborate on explaining what they misunderstood & justifying why the new answer is best.
They earn Pts back on their test score when done well. Major collaboration...win-win!
I love Test Correction day. The kids dig deep, make amazing connecting, and maybe...just maybe...the girls and boys may talk to each other. 🤪

As one who didn't read swiftly, this stressed me out immensely. I imagined having to read 5 books or more in order to find one that 'met the bill.'
So, I wrote an entire book report on a fake book, that didn't exist, that matched a theme.
And, you know what? I earned an A.
What did I learn?!?
Just divulged a memory to a friend that I hadn't thought about for a while.
Grade 10-ish, English class, given a list of maybe 100 books and told to find one with one of a handful of themes.
When one asked, 'what if we don't find the theme?' The teacher replied, 'keep trying.'

Their father has terminal cancer, and they want to be in the hospital with them.

I was pressed for time and thought I wouldn't get to the STEP UP Careers in Physics lesson this year. But, we found a way!
I used to use airplanes at my last school. They didn't 'bounce.' But my new school didn't have any. So, I ordered me a pig.
The kids have banned it 'Kowalski'... and I've nick named it 'Wally.'
