If the @bbc gives in to that moron and bully, my TV licence will be cancelled immediately. I won’t contribute a single penny - shouldn’t even recognise the jurisdiction of the court.

I was outraged to learn that Robin Ince has been forced to resign from Infinite Monkey Cage because of his support for Trans people.
I’ve been listening to Monkey Cage since 2011 and, frankly, Robin has always been the most important part - representing the average person, toning down the more irritating guests, and balancing out Brian’s arrogance.
It won’t be anywhere near as good without him… not that it matters, because as a supporter of the LGBT community, I will be boycotting in future.
To bow to the abhorrent wave of anti-trans sentiment being drummed up by the likes of Farage and Rowling is a disgrace to the history of the Corporation.

For what it’s worth, this is the text of the complaint I just made (edited slightly to avoid outing someone here)

Thank you for 15 years of entertainment, and for making this stand

I don’t think I’ve bought a shirt in 30 years (excluding a couple of charity ones I paid for)… I just collect the race shirts and wear them till they fall apart!
Worst part is the smell of my suitcase after a week away with work. Rinsing in the shower only does so much!

He either doesn’t know what he’s doing, or he DOES know what he’s doing and does it in purpose.
I don’t know which would be worse!

And, for what very little it’s worth,
I’ve uninstalled GoogleMaps over the use of “Gulf of America” in England.
How thoroughly ludicrous - I feel for the majority of USians (to distinguish from all of the other Americas) who must be utterly embarrassed at the stupidity of their so-called leaders

Thanks 😁❤️

You COULD view this is a tribute to my Scottish friends, but really it’s just an excuse for haggis & whisky!
Might struggle to eat it all…🤣

Some perfect birthday presents 🤣❤️

Agreed - if they have NUFC in their username, a photo of themselves in black and white, a photo of SJP or a player, or anything in their bio, then I’ll follow back. Even just shared some club stuff. Otherwise nope.

Aye - that photo was in the middle of winter and it was 26°c 🤣

You win… but I’m claiming a close second!

Now do it again with “pubs that allow away supporters”… 🤣

Doesn’t work like that - amortised over years with 5 “payments” of 10m in each accounting period. Doesn’t matter how far through the accounting period you are when you make the first payment, it’s not pro-ratad.

Why *wouldn’t* he want to move away from the grime and smog to our clean air and countryside, to play for a team with a chance of winning something?!

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

Completely agree with you on that!

1 year ago 1 0 0 0

Yeah - that’s the one… “we demand a club that tries”, not “we demand a team that tries”

1 year ago 2 0 1 0

As somebody else pointed out - the sign was “…a *club* that tries”, not a “team”
It could be argued that selling players like Miggy, so we can then bring in better players, IS the club trying?

And everybody thinks that because… you are!

If I could get odds on the series being finished by Brandon Sanderson from Martin’s notes… Sanderson will bang out a new book every 6 months and they’ll be great!

It’s a good question… no doubt Pope is a better shot-stopper, but I think Dubravka’s form is part of the reason we haven’t faced many shots (on target, Arsenal 👀😁). Up to Eddie and I’m actually OK either way.
If we sold Vlachidimos for what we could get, it might look strange for PSR judgements…?

Don’t think anybody disagrees - but it’s also nice to give the lad some support and make him feel wanted, especially if he’s been refused a move he’d decided to take. Part of our job as supporters to try and give the players some confidence!

Also worth looking at what attendance a properly supported side manages to attract for a third-round match against a lower-league side…👀 #nufc #newbro

Yeah - it does seem like an exception. Nobody (even the guys in their 50s and 60s) could tell me WHY they use the brand name for that - other than maybe because it’s quicker and they use it a lot!

Yeah - I work with doctors and nurses a lot, and spent a fair bit of time working in hospitals before Covid, so I might have more exposure than most… but I once asked why they “all call it that” so it was enough for me to notice 🤷‍♂️

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

Several clinicians I know call it “brufen” which is actually a specific brand of ibuprofen that I think is (or probably used to be) one they commonly dispensed in hospitals. I guess people are badly copying their doctor’s pronunciation?

Looks like there won’t be a replay of last season’s FA Cup match between #SAFC and #NUFC 😔🤣 www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...

Being pedantic, it wasn’t actually his formal rank - it was more a nickname (which, at one point, he mentioned he didn’t like) *possibly* given to him by Kira, though that’s not completely certain.
DS9 is the best 😁
