"The tension that persists between the co-existence of Aboriginal title and other land ownership in B.C. is a direct result of this inaction and the Province’s refusal to adequately address the consequences of that inaction over the last century and a half." www.ubcic.bc.ca/fnlc_declara...

Thanks. Bit wet for photos that day.

This could have been part of the marketing for 105 Hikes @stephenhui.bsky.social 🥹
One night we rescued a guy who was very afraid of bears. However he had the hiking guidebook "103 Hikes" with him, and used its pages to start a small fire.
And between you and me he needed to poop, so i think he also used the pages that way.
I can’t wait till someone uses #105Hikes resourcefully in an emergency! 📚 💩 🔥

Hesquiat Trail, Day 1 — Our challenging weeklong backpack got off to a leisurely start... www.instagram.com/p/DM3OOL_yY29/
For years, I’ve had a Nikon D7100 📷 (previously a D90) with 18-200mm lens.
It’s time to replace and downsize.
I’m looking for a lighter, more compact, still durable combo that’s excellent for hiking, travel, city life, etc.
Any recommendations? Thanks!
Sea lions and tides and black bears, oh my!
Highlights from 7 days of Wet Coast backpacking on the Hesquiat Trail — a challenging fly-in/fly-out route in Hesquiaht First Nation territory on Vancouver Island, BC.

I ❤️ K̓vi’aí (Koeye).
So many things are magical about K̓vi’aí (Koeye) — the Qqs (Eyes) Projects Society lodge and youth camp, the strength of Haíɫzaqv (Heiltsuk) culture and stewardship, the stories, the medicine, the caring, the smiles, the pizza.
Ǧiáxsix̌a for the twilight swims too.

Went for a lovely nature walk on the dṇ́y̓ás t̓x (Red Cedar Trail) — newly upgraded and celebrated by the community — in Wágḷísḷa (Bella Bella).
So many bald eagles and ravens!

Human translators? What a concept!
We were going to post this but Stephen beat us to it. Pancouver is multilingual. We already have nearly 300 Chinese-language articles @pancouver.bsky.social in both Traditional and Simplified. This year, we added Korean-language articles. Each is individually translated, not just run through Google.
謝謝 to @pancouver.bsky.social for this Chinese article about #105Hikes: pancouver.ca/%E4%BD%9C%E5...
I’ve been very disappointed with the BC GOVS recent shift away from climate action. We need to ensure our economic development is focused on the future - a transition away from fossil fuels
It's a good time to tell the BC government we need strong climate action more than ever. #CleanBC #bcpoli engage.gov.bc.ca/govtogetherb...
I've really appreciated your reporting for @fvcurrent.bsky.social. Best of luck with your book and coming adventures.
