A little sneak peek of a full art you can find in MORPHA: An Illustrated Archive of Anthropomorphic Monsters, available to buy right now on Kickstarter, five days left as of now! From what we can see something humanoid yet monstrous is floating looking up, we can spot a chin and a shoulder and every other feature is too monstrous to pick up easily. The colours are warm, mainly orange, with some scattering rending it all very peaceful. Yet at one corner something transparent lets us peek into the organs of this creature!

It's pure alternate history. Some of the changes are things like: Wealthy Romans preferred to educate their children at home with private tutors, but in my story there's an elite school in Rome in the Greek tradition, inspired by the Lyceum. Other changes are more... spicy.

Luka pierced the veil. She reached across worlds, took his hands in hers, and like the implacable force she was, used his reservoir of power to make the portal permanent. The background noise of the universe that had escaped the seam between realities grew quiet as she pulled his power through herself and stitched it together. It took mere moments She had done a work of magic the likes of which had not been seen in centuries. Entire fields of study, tossed aside, because the world itself couldn't help but bend against the weight of her will. Jas didn't care She wobbled on her feet and he caught her. All at once, the reality crashed in around him She was real. She was real, and she was here Jas pulled her into his arms and took a shuddering breath. He tried to speak, but something caught in his throat each time he tried. After a moment, he buried his face in her neck and held her tight against him Her arms went to his shoulders, fingers splays against the shifting scars. He trembled beneath her palms Luka tilted her head so her lips rested near his ear, and whispered the words he couldn't find. "I missed you" LoSDraws

He tried to speak but something caught in his throat when he tried. After a moment, he buried his face in her neck and held her tight against him

Is the title "Seven Years Love" inspired by selkie lore about seal husbands only showing up every seven years?

So much research 😭 I'm not sure any other period of history is so well-researched. It spans like 800 years too, and things changed a lot over that time. I try to keep most daily life details period-accurate, but some stuff just goes totally out the window for plot/spicy reasons.

I came across John Norman's "Gor" series, which has been influential and controversial re: his portrayal of sexual slavery. I was intrigued but also disturbed, and then this idea coalesced about a nobleman who's anti-slavery but is gifted a sex slave that he's not allowed to free.
