I had the same, at a bodega on 7th Avenue in NYC that I'd get my coffee from, pre-Starbucks, even. It would be ready when I walked in. "No sugar, you're sweet enough."

Nana? Hurricane Nana?

This is blatant media malpractice. EVERY article about Kushner should mention, up top, that he's NOT a government employee and is essentially bathed in conflicts of interest.

Shitty first draft is perennially excellent advice for any writer.

Just watching that creeped me out.

This is like one of those dreams where you discover, after years, a whole other room in your home and it's so cool, only this is real.

This reminds me, though the two shows are of course WILDLY different, of how I felt after watching each episode of Mad Men. I had to spend all of the following day reading everything I could to understand the costuming, the sets, etc. I just want to KNOW, and the Pitt has that same pull.

“Why do we feel a paralyzing sense of dread all the time?” I type into my Paralyzing Sense of Dread Machine that lives in my pocket.

I watched it wishing I could transmit some extra courage to her through the screen. Good God, the things women are put through.

I'll say this about Peter Baker: his wife is a much better writer.

That was written by someone a true Catholic like Biden could forgive, but I can't.

Here's the thing about Catholic converts. They tend to want in for the conservative, Latin Mass, literal hell kind of Catholicism. Somehow the converts are never the social justice/Earth justice, we're all God's children types of Catholics. Wonder why that is? (Also JD Vance is a piece of shit)

I honestly just pictured him at the negotiating table waiting for someone to give him $2billion so he could go home.

Viktor Orban's loss was a blow to right wing populism, and to center-parted hair.

I am quite sure I always have better weekends than JD Vance because even if I’ve had a bad weekend I’m still not JD Vance, which has to be a miserable state of being.

This is the crux of it. It’s been clear since 2015 but now it’s painfully so.

Or just deciding on two to four episodes of Veep season one. Who, me?

I cannot be the first person who thinks writer Patrick Radden Keefe looks like Neil Patrick Harris, right?

Performative bullshit. The time for that kind of “protest” was over circa 2018.

They were going kill off Carole Hathaway? Yikes!

Infuriating that everyone misses that point. UES is a stand-in for "super rich" because a lot of super rich people live there... among many other upper middle class, middle class, and working class people. Plus, obviously, the super rich were never going to put their kids in free pre-school.

This is pointed out in the article, but for anyone who refuses (understandably) to click the link: not everyone on the Upper East Side is rich. Just as not everyone in the Hamptons is rich.

It's a whole thing. It courses like blood. It's just there all the time.
