The anti Starmer media are still trying to unseat the UK PM. It is sad we do not have impartial media.

Interesting that the media and newspapers require Starmer to produce evidence for everything he says but are OK about the fact Olly Robbins had NO evidence of what he was saying. Perhaps speaks volumes about press and media obsession of trying to unseat the UK PM.

Also very interesting that I haven't heard any media demanding evidence to support what Olly Robbins said. He refused to name names and couldn't remember who had seen DV but yet he was willing to say Number 10 had a blasé attitude over the DV of Mandelson. Surely media are going to want evidence??

Media, newspapers etc have been trying to get Starmer to resign from the moment he got into office. He is held to higher standards than the Pope! He has made some mistakes (Mandelson a big one) but whatever he does media and newspapers will try to destroy him. We don't have impartial media in UK.

Hmm don't agree. The issue is that Robbins should have informed the PM and Foreign secretary about Mandelson's DV advice. Robbins must have known it could put PM in difficult position if he didn't know Mandelson had not passed vetting. Robbins is highly paid man and had a responsibility to Govt.

Anyone who advertised this as must see and needing popcorn has obviously not been to a good film recently! The constant repetition + lack of names + lack of evidence makes it all a waste of time...

This all feels like it is a Mcsweeney issue not a Starmer issue and I am very surprised that a highly paid leader of FCO wasn't able to push back against people he seems to be unwilling to name! If you are making accusations you need to name names + produce evidence of it all - can't see evidence.

The massive issue with evidence from Olly Robbins is he isn't willing to say who put pressure on him over Mandelson or who put pressure on him over Matthew Doyle. If he doesn't have evidence of who then he shouldn't be saying it. Robbins was also paid large amounts of money to withstand pressure!

Where is evidence of this constant pressure or that the cabinet office didn't think vetting was necessary? When pushed Robbins refused to say WHO was putting pressure on him! He is highly paid Civil servant paid to withstand pressure + also voice concerns. He should have told PM about DV concerns!

Robbins is a highly paid Civil Servant. He is paid to be able to take pressure + push back against it if he feels it is wrong. He is also paid to inform Govt of anything that is a national security concern. He doesn't seem to have kept notes of who put pressure on him or who he told about DV!

Be very interesting to see the evidence of this and who was putting this pressure on him. Robbins seems unwilling to say who was putting 'constant pressure' on him. Who urged Fido to appoint Mandelson without vetting? Where is the evidence of this? He needs to provide this because I doubt it was PM!

Olly Robbins was paid huge amounts of money to head of FCO. He was paid to voice his opinion. He wasn't a junior clerk. When DV advice came through he should have voiced his opinion to PM and information that Mandelson hadn't passed the DV. There is no excuse for him withholding this information.

Sorry but where is the evidence of the dismissive attitude? Also Olly Robbins is not a junior clerk he is paid huge amounts of money to head up the FCO. If he read the DV vetting and felt Mandelson shouldn't have been appointed he was PAID to voice that opinion or at least let PM know outcome of DV.

Nobody is happy the PM appointed Mandelson (even Mandelson!) but we have gone over and over this over the last 6 months and he has acknowledged he shouldn't have appointed him. The world is in chaos at moment with Trump and cost of living is going into crisis again - we need to spend time on that!

2. It was right to sack Olly Robbins - he failed to inform Govt
3. Starmer will not be Labour leader by this time next year
4. We need some stability NOW while Trump causes chaos
