This is a grave and era-defining moment for the world. Donald Trump is making wilder and increasingly concerning threats by the hour.
If Trump follows through with this, Keir Starmer must immediately recall Parliament.

The Prime Minister must also withdraw US access to UK bases now. “MPs must be given a chance to hold the Government to account and prevent the UK from being complicit in war crimes and breaches of international law.” ED DAVEY MP

Trump has insulted Britain and insulted our troops – and you can bet he’ll do it again.
How can the Prime Minister still think Trump should be rewarded with a state visit from our King?

We are pleased to see many @libdems.org.uk MPs pushing to improve the dire situation for voting from abroad
At the last General Election only 48% of postal votes from abroad were returned in time to be counted. Improvements are long overdue
Thanks for your support, @freddievanmierlomp.bsky.social!
GB News has turned into the Reform channel.
After a New World investigation found hundreds of breaches of the rules on accuracy and impartiality, Ofcom has failed to do its job and act.
We've seen what Fox News has done to politics in the US. We can't let it happen here.
Given Trump's illegal war that is devastating the Middle East and pushing up energy bills, Keir Starmer should advise the King to call off April’s state visit to the US.
A state visit should not be given to someone who repeatedly insults and damages our country.
"People must trust that their voting voice matters".
Well said, @mp4stratford.bsky.social ! Thank you for raising in parliament issues affecting overseas voting.
The new elections act is a chance to fix it with:
📮 Better postal ballots
🌍 Overseas constituencies
🏢 Using embassies and consulates
🗳️"Our First Past the Post voting system was outdated decades ago, [it's] a millstone around the neck of our democratic life."

The second reading of the new election law is tomorrow.
We are shocked that desperately-needed provisions to improve voting from abroad are not included.
Write to your MP today so it’s at the top of their inbox tomorrow before the debate.

Dangerous & misleading eating disorder content is flooding online platforms & it's being spread by algorithms.📱
One click & you’re bombarded. Block it. Report it. Mute it. It still comes back.
The Government, through Ofcom, must stop algorithms amplifying harm & hold tech companies accountable.
This week marks 4 years since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
It is a time to remember the lives lost and the many Ukrainians who have suffered as a result of the war.
We must continue to stand with Ukraine and take action to ensure democracy and freedom for its people.

I’ve supported this letter to the Home Secretary highlighting the real impact of recent entry requirement changes on British dual nationals - from missed family events to people being stranded overseas. These problems are avoidable and must be fixed.
Thank you, Wendy. We are hearing many stories from citizens abroad who are very worried about this change.
British citizens living abroad are also affected by decisions made by Westminster, so deserve a say in who their representatives are.
February is LGBT+ History Month, a chance to celebrate the contribution of LGBT+ people to our society and reflect on how far we’ve come.
Progress happens when people speak up, support one another, and choose inclusion. 🏳️🌈
The crisis in our health service is a national disgrace. We @libdems.org.uk are the only party with a credible plan to fix it by:
🏥 Reversing surgery closures & securing 8,000 extra GPs.
🛏️ Ending long waits for care by properly supporting social care & carers to free up thousands of hospital beds.
The new passport requirements for dual citizens have been rushed through and lack of communication has thrown travel plans into chaos.
We echo Will Forster MP's demand for a grace period and review. It cannot be harder for British citizens to enter the UK than non-citizens
Some good news that the government may allow expired passports for dual nationals to prove they're British, but it's not enough.
It's wrong that some British citizens will find it harder and more expensive than non-citizens to enter the UK under the new rules.
We are pleased to see European countries continuing to undo some of the harm caused by Brexit.
Thank you, France!
We long for the day when we rejoin, and all the harms are undone 🇪🇺

Red Lunar New Year graphic with gold text reading “Happy New Year” above two stylized golden horses framed by gold decorative swirls and clouds, with scattered confetti.
Wishing a very happy new year to Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese communities in the UK and to everyone who is celebrating the Lunar New Year.
May it be a time of joy and celebration for you and your family.
The voices of thousands of overseas voters weren't heard due to postal delays at the last General Election.
Yet the government has proposed a new law with no improvements for Brits abroad:
❌ No postal vote improvements
❌ No dedicated overseas representation
❌ No automatic voter registration
We oppose this new ETA red tape and demand a border that recognises citizens automatically. Dual citizens, to stay protected:
🛂 Travel to the UK using your British passport
🇬🇧 Renew your passport now if it's not valid
❌ Do not apply for an ETA
See gov.uk guidance 👇 www.gov.uk/guidance/ele...
"Denied" stamp in front of an image of a passport.
🚨 URGENT INFORMATION FOR BRITISH DUAL CITIZENS TRAVELLING TO THE UK 🚨
From February 25th, dual citizens must use a UK passport or have a costly certificate to enter. You may otherwise be denied boarding or face delays as the automatic system may not recognise your rights.

I love our country, but Nigel Farage wants to turn it into Trump’s America. We can’t let him.
Choose a brighter future with the Liberal Democrats.
An investigation into Russian interference in our politics is long overdue. And we all know who should be questioned first.
