Thank you !
Angle looking down at Stephanie’s feet. She’s sitting on a hardwood floor. She’s wearing cuffed jeans, a beige-light gray wool jacket with pewter buttons. In hand is an insulated tumbler of hot coffee. On her feet are saturated striped wool socks morning sunshine.

It may be getting hot where you are or already hot and it seems like everyone has moved from talking about “spring knits” to “summer knits” already BUT I’m here to tell you all about my handknit wool jacket 😆!

Accidentally deleted my featured finished project on the lento sweater from last week 🤦🏻♀️. It’s re-uploaded now but all the lovely comments went into the internet blackhole of no return. Sorry!! Here’s the new link:

A go-to baby/toddler gift knit for me is the Beloved by Tin Can Knits! Have you tried this pattern?? There are over 7,000 projects on Ravelry! This bonnet pattern was published in 2018 and comes in five sizes (newborn - adult). Knit up with DK weight yarn (or fingering held double or whatever you want to achieve a gauge of 22 sts x 30r), it is the perfect little accessory that’s both functional and adorable. An engaging seamless knit with thoughtful details and clever shaping! Highly recommend. “Some say ruhking is a calling. For me it was an answer to a question that had bored clear through my soul. I had a hole worn through my center, like one of Arnan’s interesting blue river stones. People have admired rocs for centuries. Artists paint them, sculpt them, tell stories about them. I wanted to be one. I wanted to be the monster that kills other monsters.” ~Excerpt from Untethered Sky by Fonda Lee, page 23 Sometimes when I read a lot of books that are part of longer incomplete series, or just longer 300-500 page books, I seek an anthology or a novella. I recently finished an adult science fiction high fantasy novella. We’re immersed in a kingdom where manticores (deadly human-eating monsters) are a problem. The relationship between humans and animals (specifically rocs or mythical birds of prey that resemble a gigantic falcon) is explored. I was invested in characters that I got to know but wanted to get to know more than the 150 pages gave me. Themes of grief, responsibility, internal struggles, loyalty, family. My heart strings were definitely pulled. For my project, I’ve re-knit the collar since that last time I shared a work-in-progress photo. Used a smaller needle and picked up less stitches and it fits better on me now. I’ve picked up for the sleeves and will finish those before going back to finish the body!

I added interior pockets and do my boxed bottom a little differently (same result). Main thing: the zipper method is awesome and one I’ve come back to often (when I remember 😅)!
