The piece is from 2022 but it will still be of help to all teachers. 'Trauma-informed teaching' is basically 'biologically-informed teaching'. I think the education system has a moral & professional responsibility to help teachers understand this information.

Martin Teicher said at recent Words Matter conference - boys brains more affected by parental verbal abuse than girls in earlier years - age of vulnerability for boys is 0-7 while for girls it’s 10-15 his research has shown. 🤯 Our boys need us to know this.

A range of studies have been published recently about the impact of ACEs. Here's a THREAD summarising them.
1. When measured during pregnancy, women with higher ACE scores were found to have greater epigenetic aging. This aging appears to alter the genome of the babies, especially in boys.
