You can use Yggdrasil with your openai subscription, or any local LLM for now.
I plan to add more providers and byok soon.
You can also access any openrouter model, multi device cloud backup by signing in through a yggdrasil account.

Yggdrasil works natively on Windows, and has full WSL support as well.
It also runs on Linux and macOS.
We also have an app store, where you can build your own custom app/tool and share it with other users.
Yggdrasil comes with its own vs code extension to provide complete context from your workspace, all files/folders/and selected context. You can also select context from multiple different files and combine it all with your prompt.

Yggdrasil also has our own custom app protocol, like mcp apps on steroids. You can build and test any custom tool or app right in the harness. Want your own memory system? Or maybe some workflows to fire off after you commit, write your own app in minutes.
You can branch from any point in your chat, and branching does NOT break existing cache!
Everything until the branch point remains in cache.
With iterative process coming out on top for working with LLMs, Yggdrasil's branching feels perfect.

You are correct but its not just AI but human nature to consolidate really. It could have been fusion power and you still would have the same exact issue.

It's odd they don't let you make custom tools. It's the first thing i supported in my harness. You can try building your own memory implementation!
