As a wee side note, the image of a man drinking heavily and alone seems to recur rather often in these woozy think-pieces on the exhaustion of prevailing ideologies.

The centre of Glasgow does seem to be particularly inflammable.

Don't shun people just because they have different beliefs about blotting out the sun to usher in a new age of eternal darkness. We have to find an answer in the middle.

This could be just thirty-odd fundamentalist head cases (that we know of), but even that many being comfortable about voicing such beliefs on duty is deeply disturbing.
