It’s the big budget version of Nigel Farage doing anything for money on Cameo.
That’s not to say any income generated shouldn’t go to redeveloping towns across the UK. Part of the attraction is the country as a whole - you won’t believe how much that boy wizard is still driving international students and tourism.
“The World’s University” is a great pitch, but wealthy international students are being told to look at the top 50 universities in the world, and we do well in that table, but it’s mainly already wealthy areas, eg Oxford, Cambridge, London, St Andrews in that list.
Said it before but the UK could do a lot worse than to market itself as "The World's University", throw ourselves open to international students and use some of the money to drive regeneration in towns by setting up English-language immersion summer schools there using eg disused mills.
