Huge thanks to @joshnewburymp.bsky.social for bringing questions about Plantation on Ancient Woodland Sites (PAWS) restoration to yesterday's EFRA Committee session.
Here @marycreagh.bsky.social explains the state of PAWS restoration in the UK, highlighting a key disparity 🧵

Four people arrested over disgraceful giant waste dump!
Our Waste Crime Action Plan is clamping down on the waste cowboys, using new police-style powers to ensure that they are brought to justice and to prevent this crime in the future.
Happy Vaisakhi to everyone celebrating in Coventry East and beyond!
Golden eagles to soar once again across our skies.
Thanks to investment from this Government, golden eagles will make a return to our landscapes.
We will work alongside stakeholders and communities to make the golden eagle a feature of English landscapes once again.

Reform and the Tories would have gone headfirst into this war.
The Greens want to withdraw from NATO and are not serious.
The Prime Minister has shown strong leadership, and made the right choices for our country.
Despite pressure from others, he has been crystal clear - this is not our war.
The Telegraph just gave a convicted criminal a two-page spread to explain why he's pumping £4 million into Reform UK. They tucked his criminal record away in the small print. So as a former financial crime specialist I’ll do their job for them👇
Too right it does.
In 26 days' time we will:
✅Abolish Section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions.
✅Introduce periodic tenancies.
✅Limit rent increases to once a year.
✅Ban rental bidding and rent in advance.
✅Make discrimination against renters who have children or receive benefits illegal.
Great news for renewable energy. Solar panels on new homes and plug in solar panels to be available in shops within months.

Labour is cracking down on waste crime.
I spoke with Sky News about our new plans to make fly-tippers do unpaid clean ups.
Seizing and crushing fly-tippers vehicles✅
Larger fines and tougher penalties✅
Forcing fly-tippers to clean up the mess✅
Pride in Place is bringing £20 million to transform Willenhall.
The best part? The people there get to decide how it's spent!
I sat down with Chair Matthew Bull, Vicar of St John the Divine, and a group of residents to discuss their ideas for where the money should go.
We were delighted to host Nature Minster @marycreagh.bsky.social yesterday for a wide-ranging discussion. Issues covered included global biodiversity conferences, as well as the recent IPBES report and what it means for insects 🐝🪲🐞🪰🦟
We know that the job is far from done, but with Labour, the NHS is starting to turn a corner.

This is alongside the recent national news that shows the NHS is getting back on its feet. The fastest average ambulance response time in five years, A&E waits at their shortest for four years, and waiting lists down by 374,000 since the general election - all delivered by this Labour Government!
I'm delighted to see that UHCW University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire is ranked second nationally for cancer diagnosis speed! In January, nearly 84% of patients were diagnosed or had cancer ruled out within just 28 days. That's well above the national average of under 73%.

The latest NHS figures are out - here's what they say!👇
Under the Tories, rail fares rose by 60%.
Labour is freezing rail fares, saving a frequent Coventry to Birmingham commuter an average of £100 per year.
Labour has the right plan to tackle the cost of living, and grow our economy.
I know that constituents in Coventry East will be concerned that recent global events will affect their energy bills.
The decisions taken by the Chancellor in the budget mean that the April-June price cap has been lowered by £117, regardless of global events.
Reform would set women’s rights back a generation.
Scrapping the Employment Rights Act and the Equality Act would weaken protections for millions of pregnant women, parents, and workers across Britain.
Labour is empowering women.
We will always stand up for equality and fairness.
I welcomed the wonderful students of Courthouse Green Primary School to Parliament this week.
They had a fascinating tour and we chatted about the great work that they are doing with their school parliament and eco-council.

One in five allergy-related deaths among school-aged children in the UK occur in school, which is why this Labour government is bringing in stronger protections:
✅Spare adrenaline auto-injectors
✅Allergy awareness training
✅Dedicated safety policies
✅Individual Healthcare Plans
That's why I'm proud that we are delivering a library in every primary school in England by the end of this parliament.
Labour is giving every child the best start in life, regardless of their background.
It's World Book Day!
Reading is not just fun for children, it boosts literacy, expands vocabulary, and stimulates imagination.
Yet one-in-seven primary schools in the UK do not have a library , rising to one-in-four for disadvantaged areas (National Literacy Trust)

I visited Asda in Henley for National Apprenticeship Week, where I spoke to Jacob about the impact that his apprenticeship has on his life.
Work-life balance, opportunities, and more - that is what apprenticeships are all about.
Today is World Wildlife Day, and as Minister for Nature, I'm proud of our record on wildlife.
There is always more to do, and we will continue to deliver.
But our Animal Welfare Strategy, wild beaver releases, and other reforms, show nature and wildlife are a top priority for this Government
