I downloaded a tune of theirs for inclusion on last year's annual playlist. Nice to see there's now some physical product available: embracethemargin.blogspot.com/2025/12/line...
'Three little girls with only 50 pence, had to take, had to put, the Curly Wurly back.'

As featured on THE WONDERFUL AND FRIGHTENING WORLD OF THE FALL - VOLUME 2: embracethemargin.blogspot.com/2021/11/line...
There's at least ten very good albums there that stand the test of time, although I'm with you on the 50% dross.
That they didn't include Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Gang Starr, Black Sheep, A Tribe Called Quest, KMD, Cypress Hill, Main Source, Public Enemy, UMC's, Brand Nubian, etc. is why I read Hip Hop Connection instead of either of those.
Outrageous that they've not capitalised 'The Fall' throughout.
I don't know why it took so long, but I've fallen hard for My Bloody Valentine: open.spotify.com/playlist/6kA...
#MyBloodyValentine.
This has strong connotations for me - a period of limbo: embracethemargin.blogspot.com/2018/04/line...
Bargain!!! The version of 'Julia' is sublime. I'd recommend checking out 'It’s Gonna Last' by The UMC's, which samples it. I discovered this fact a few years back: embracethemargin.blogspot.com/2022/11/line...
This week's guest mixer on #stevesmixtapes is a very patient man - he sent in this mix for me to curate a long, long time ago, so apologies to James Evans. I hope it was worth the wait!

Sure was. All these tunes have featured at some point or another on... embracethemargin.blogspot.com/search/label...

What building was pulled down to allow for that one?
🤣
It's also available to buy, on vinyl, CD or as a digital download - that's what you should be pushing. Is it a great album, though: comet-gain.bandcamp.com/album/city-f...
That happens on regular basis, although what with all the rain we've had, and with spring tides on the horizon, it could well become a semi-permanent states of affairs.
Looks like something The Clientele would use for an album sleeve.
It is - or at least was - the centrepiece in the gallery at Plymouth Museum, which is where I grew up. (In Plymouth, not the museum.)
My dad taught me more about art in five minutes, using the composition of this painting as an example, than I learned about the subject in three years at secondary school.
Same - takes me back to my first year of university. Red Rose Speedway too: embracethemargin.blogspot.com/2016/12/line...
Hoping that this will mean it will become available on Spotify and I can fill in the gaps on my 'Best Of Comet Gain' collection: open.spotify.com/playlist/2Dz...
I will be purchasing a copy on vinyl regardless, despite already owning it on CD. Oh, and they're playing at The Lexington this Thursday.
I get that she technically qualifies, but give what's not on there it seems rather incongruous. Music of Life was an independent, for example, but there's not a sniff of any of that, so why go anywhere near Stock, Aitken & Waterman?
Sarah Records conspicuous by their absence, and what the hell is Kylie Minogue doing on there?
What's with the stupid music they're playing behind the drone footage, like it's some TV detective drama? That aside, it looks like they've cordoned off quite a large area.
Good choice. I find it hard to chose a favourite Bowie album - it's either that one or Heroes or Station to Station - but it was Low that first drew me in, after I bought a secondhand copy in Penzance in the year 2000: embracethemargin.blogspot.com/2017/07/line...
Ah, the opening track to my recently compiled, and rather random, indie retrospective: open.spotify.com/playlist/27i...
Did you know he also did session work for Serge Gainsbourg, most notably on Vu de l'extérieur? [Because of this, as well as his collaborations with Brian Bennett, he gets talked about in the notes to my 2021 playlist, The Unlockdown Tapes: embracethemargin.blogspot.com/2021/11/line... ]
What's your take on the early stuff? I think it's a shame the way he seemed to turn his back on it, because I rate it quite highly: open.spotify.com/playlist/3LH...

Yes, I've done it myself - made the argument for Britpop being a Fascist movement. But I was happy to be challenged on it, and I tried to make it funny.
