I remember a news story several months back that they wanted to do this when infowars went bankrupt
Great piece. Brilliant reporting.
Good read from @sethemerson.bsky.social

It was an incredibly stupid and shortsighted decision by the @nba.com to put first-round games exclusively on Amazon with no local broadcasts, and I don’t say that just because I’m among the many who cut the cord with Amazon/Bezos. Many fans penalized.
Beautiful writing by Mark Whicker on the late Garret Anderson.

Andrei Michkov became a 24/7 hockey coach, making sure his son stayed focused on his goal of playing in the NHL.
It wasn't always easy, and for a younger person, the constant supervision could be frustrating.
But Michkov is grateful for it now.

I like how @joshkendall.bsky.social acknowledges up front that this wasn't a "fair" exercise on his part. But screw it. If you need more illustration for how even personnel "experts" aren't really experts and what a guessing game the draft is, here we go:

The proceedings also aired a Live Nation executive’s internal messages declaring some prices “outrageous” calling customers “so stupid” and boasting that the company “robbing them blind, baby.” The executive, Benjamin Baker, apologetically testified the messages were “very immature and unacceptable"
This is for all the journalists out there who think Twitter impacts their traffic.
Want your men’s college basketball team to contend next year? It might take $10 million www.nytimes.com/athletic/719...
Correct.
Zero.
Hah. No.
I don’t dispute your overall premise in many, even most, situations. But I’m going to refrain from responding in this particular situation.
Steven Ginsberg, editor of @theathletic.com, said “new questions” arose during investigation, which is why he backed off. I call bullshit on that. It’s more likely his NYT bosses were pissed about his rush to defend Dianna Russini.
Mostly I feel bad for the other writers on @theathletic.com staff because stories like this reflect on everybody, and through no fault of their own.
Not the first time somebody told me I’m No. 1.
I no longer care that he’s a cheater and an asshole because he’s on my Masters’ fantasy team.

They should put that reading and court fights on PPV.

"Bijan Robinson is entering his fourth year in the NFL. He’s already working for his third head coach and, potentially, with his fifth starting quarterback."
Oof.
