wrotten to the core!
*write. I promise I'm a good righter
In my new book project on the Big Lie, I thought I was using Alex Jones as an anecdote to start a chapter.
Analysis of his transcripts are now the longest chapter in the book.
We like to right him off as loony (and boy is he ever) but he is way more influential than I'd realized.
If you'll be at MPSA, this roundtable "Alarm Bells of Rising Authoritarian Practices in the U.S." should be a good one. Come hang out with us and talk about *waves hands* all of this
Thinking about setting up a little booth at MPSA to sell these

I don't think Callais comes down this morning, but good vibes never hurt anyone
We need to demand, especially if there's a sympathetic party in power, that democratic reform tops the agenda. We came achingly close in 2022, but-for Sinema and Manchin refusing to alter the filibuster. We can't let them learn the wrong lesson from that fight
Just finished the final (final final final) read through of the proofs. I'll probably never read this whole thing again, but I'm really very excited to share it with you all soon
With apologies for crossposting from twitter, folks here will find this interesting:
A Blue Jay standing in water, just finishing a bath, lit by the afternoon sun, a light spray of water droplets around them. The Jay’s feathers are soggy, the water is reflecting greens and browns from nearby trees, rocks, and algae

(The real joke is on me for doing research that requires me to engage with all y'all's admittedly very good work)
Me, every time I accidentally open a law review article
This looks absolutely fantastic! The history of the Voting Rights Act - and all the many ways in which the Roberts Court has been assaulting it.
@kevintmorris.bsky.social is doing brilliant, essential work - and this book will be mandatory reading the minute it is out.
Pre-order this now.
If you told me this a year ago I would have told you to get your head checked
Re-upping for tax day:
“Taxes are what we pay for a civilized society” according to Chief Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.
But time and money Americans spend on tax reporting is the price we pay for a dysfunctional government unwilling to invest in public interest capacity.
This is going to be a good one, empirical quantitative data and historical data combined.
Thanks, friend!
Thrilled to read this.
Not thrilled to be reminded of how much I hate John Roberts and his near single-minded devotion, throughout his career, to dismantling one of the greatest accomplishments of the civil rights movement.
Brings a whole new meaning to, "Is the Pope Catholic?"
I can't wait to read this book!!!
🙌🙌🙌 Thanks, MiLO!
Thanks, Thomas!!! Really kind
