Driving in the car and the 7 year old just presented me with her labelled structure of the Earth diagram…just because. Bless her.

It’s so interesting isn’t it, his heat is inextricably linked with colour in our heads.
What are your favourite ‘go to’ diagrams for teaching the structure of the Earth? Do you have favourite colours for sections?! Also which diagrams do you love to destroy?! Cc @ahamill.bsky.social @jennnnnn.bsky.social @geogmum.bsky.social @geogsteel.bsky.social
Phewf!!
There's lots in the press today about potential of AI to the UK, including to schools & for some eg's of use of AI in the #geography classroom see #geographyteacher Lara Buchanan's blog for #GeographicalAssociation on how she uses AI in her lessons

The world has passed "peak child".
This was a term coined by the late Hans Rosling, and the most recent data suggests that the world has reached it: the number of children has stopped growing.

Tell me it wasn’t outside in the snow?! 🥶
Yikes! Brrr that is chilly. Stay safe and enjoy!
Gorgeous! Soooo jealous.
Great to use somewhere more obscure.
True! Keeps you on your toes but also means you can keep being inspired yourself with something new.
Good to be able to build upwards.
Ah that’s great! Lovely to use their narratives.
Ha ha. It is tricky isn’t it. Partly because we’re battling preconceptions that are already so ingrained.
It's the Xmas dilemma ... whether to have a real or fake Xmas tree 🎄

Fingers crossed! Busy bee.
Ok #geographyteachers - hit me with your ‘favourite’ preferred LIDC case study for teaching GCSE development. Where do you focus on & why did you choose it? How do you avoid children picking up stereotypes & assumptions of place?
Thanks! #geography #GCSE
And this is the daftness - you’ll end up with both knees needing surgery rather than just one. I had assumed private care would be more optimistic & useful.
Nightmare. My friend has been battling this argument for years, despite being a dancer & the impact of her busted knees meaning she cannot exercise so is gaining weight & having further knock-on health impacts on other joints. It’s mad. You need it now! and they definitely last longer than 10!
Out of interest, do any #education #teachertraining organisations include content on child physiological development at different ages? Please share, I would love to connect. Cc @teachertapp.bsky.social @ruthswailes.bsky.social @suecowley.bsky.social #pgce #ECT @collegeofteaching.bsky.social
