I think Robocop's Clarence Boddicker might be my favorite movie villain of all time? I don't know of another one that turns the venn diagram of "I hate this guy" and "I love watching this guy" into a complete circle quite like him.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1997)
Seed of Chucky (2004)
Horror franchises really used to say "OK now let's do a John Waters one."
a 3 star review of the first Illumination Super Mario Bros. movie that reads as follows: I dressed up as funky kong to see this with coworkers and my manager was like "who the fuck are you" because I looked like a 90s weed dealer so I told her to "just wait and see" and then he never showed up in the movie
tbh I still feel I get more enjoyment out of reading this short review of the first Mario movie than I do out of watching most full-length films

Nothing like spending Easter Sunday with a goddamn cold. 🙃
A frame from Mothra vs Godzilla. A giant blue and yellow striped egg sits on a beach, while a crowd of tiny people stand around it, reveling in its glory, celebrating that they found an egg. The words “Happy Easter” has been added to the image in a yellow script font.
To those who celebrate

ultimate marriage of flesh and machine, its hulking form adorned by odd trinkets, strange faces, and writhing sinew, equipped with a freakish variety of weaponry and abilities, it's hard to say where anything begins or ends. Mysterious is the alien bioweapon that chants unknown songs for a war it wages against all other life.

Woke to a pleasant surprise this morning: The great #KennethCranham re-creating some lines from HELLBOUND, thanx to @hellraiserdiscord.bsky.social. Delighted to see that Ken elevates my nonsense just as convincingly today as he did 38 years ago! (link in replies)

It builds on the most interesting early implications of the Monsterverse’s Hollow Earth but uses that worldbuilding to frame Toho and Daiei’s rosters within their proper place amongst the hordes of Hollywood atomic horrors, the international rivals like Gorgo, and Harryhausen’s menagerie.
Tarrell Christie and Lost Utopia Films’ found footage kaiju and monster animations have all been incredibly well-made fun, but Sub-Zero Terror (2026) kicks everything up so many notches I’m left a little floored. Unbelievable alt-history fanfilmmaking, impressive and indulgent all at once.
