Honored and overjoyed to be chosen as JaNay Brown-Wood’s runner up for this year’s @pbrisingstars.bsky.social mentorship program! So excited to have a mini mentorship with JaNay to learn from her experience and work on my stories. Thank you PBRS & JaNay for this amazing opportunity! 🌟

Productivity has fallen to near zero this week due to new puppy, but the household cuteness level has risen by 1000%. #australianlabradoodle #puppy

My writing group met about one year ago (next week) and so we did a little secret pal book exchange. I feel so fortunate to have found this talented, kind, hard-working group of writers!! 🥰

An array of books lay on carpet. The books include Knight Owl by Christopher Denise, Creepy Crayon by Aaron Reynolds and Peter Brown, The Night Market by Seina Wedlick and Briana Mukodiri Uchendu, Ahoy by Sophie Blackall, Hot Dog by Doug Salati, Hello Universe by Erin Entrada Kelly, and Wilder Girls by Rory Power. A tote bag for the store Books of Wonder and one that reads SCBWI are also included.
Added all of these wonderful books to my collection this week!! 📚 I loved browsing through every shelf in @booksofwonder.bsky.social after #scbwiNY25 was over, couldn’t help grabbing a couple more.

Just went on an exciting tour of Random House Children’s Books put on by one of their imprints, Delacorte Press. It was a fantastic experience and I was fan-girling over, well… everything. The editors who met with us were so generous in offering their time and insights! A++ way to begin #scbwiNY25
Learned so much from @juanitalondo8o.bsky.social 's talk on Illustrating Stories Digitally: From Concept to Final Artwork! Such a polished presentation that included everything from brainstorming to color theory to adding final touches in Procreate. #scbwiSummer24 #kidlit
There's so much talent in the SCBWI Portfolio showcase! Definitely check it out if you have a moment.

One of my favorite quotes from #scbwiSummer24 so far, on staying true to yourself through the writing process, not just writing for trends or just to publish. #scbwinotes
It was great to see you again, Jolie! Great intro into my first SCBWI conference. :)
Shauna, these are adorable and dynamic. I love the camp name!
So excited to be venturing into the children books authors + illustrators community! Such a welcoming and fun group of people. #scbwiSummer24 #scbwiBIRD
