The problem with the BBC being the nation’s finest engine for soft power, is that people have realised that they can easily exert hard, nasty, cruel power on it, and bend it out of shape.

Empathy, curiosity and compassion shouldn’t be problematic qualities that need silencing. Seems they are now.

I'm sure you're more than aware that there are plenty of independent producers often attracting audiences equivalent to the BBC without the editorial pressures hopefully your talents in science and arts communication can find a home somewhere else, where your humanity can continue to flourish.

From the sounds of things there is little point in your audience protesting or arguing for your reinstatement, if I'm wrong please count my voice amongst those calling for your return. Broadcasting needs people like you more than people like you need broadcasting.

Without people like you with real views, feelings and emotions to make it there is little point in organisations like the BBC, and it sickens me that the people in charge don't understand and cherish that every single day.

People like you highlight everything about art and media that cannot be replaced by machines, the fact you are clearly an empathetic and caring human shines through in everything that you do - and makes it what it is.

I've been one of your listeners from (very nearly) the beginning, and you've created probably one of the most accessible and effective pieces of science communication in the history of broadcasting - for this you should be justifiably proud.

Robin, this is truly heartbreaking. It was quite clear that more than being a part of that show, you were that show (or at the very least it's driving force), and to be pushed out for nothing more than daring to highlight injustices when you see them is a travesty.
