Imagine my surprise when my dad popped up in my feed this morning. Yes indeed that is my pop. He turns 90 in a couple weeks.

My favorite track from @thephotocopies.bsky.social's "Counterintuition" is "Bye Bye Boyfriend".
The song is fun and charming, while being just the right amount of mean. The lyrics are messed up in a way that just tickles my admittedly dumb sense of humor.

The lyrics by themselves are clever and memorable, but what makes this really great is the variety in wildly different styles while it keeps the IndiePop feeling consistent.

Bleak, snowy Scottish landscape in winter.
Travelled to the funeral for a lovely man I didn’t know very well but he’d battled with early onset Alzheimer’s for 10 years. Devastating stuff and a gorgeous family dealing with extended grief. Drove home via Cairn O’mount. I’d never driven that route before. Blizzard, lightning and stark beauty.
I’m glad to say I do. I’m just about to send a new album off to the vinyl pressing plant. It’s been well over 30 years since I’ve appeared on vinyl, so that’ll be nice. What’s next for you?
