OPERAS: "The Cask of Amontillado," a one-act opera by Julia Perry based on Edgar Allan Poe's story, will have its première on Nov. 20 at the McMillin Theatre.
It will have a stylized production and will form the second half of the Columbia University Orchestra program led by Howard Shanet. . . . Opera 55, which recently gave the Robert Law-rence-Bernard Rogers work "The Veil" will present the New York première of another short opera on Nov. 23. It will be Hugo Weis-gall's "The Tenor," with a libretto by John R. Allen and Karl Shapiro drawn from a play by Frank Wedekind. The performance will be at the Provincetown Playhouse. ... On Wednesday the Baltimore Symphony, under Massimo Freccia, will give a concert performance of Mussorgsky's
"Boris Godunov," with • Jerome Hines in the title role.

I'm FAR from an AVID fanboi. But I've been generally happy with what they've done with Sibelius recently. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to back up your computer before updating.
