"I'll love you in every lifetime." Is that a promise, or a threat?
This is my favorite story I've ever written. I'm honored to see it (and hear it!) in Escape Pod.
ECONOMY OF MOVEMENT against a fantasy map backdrop
PITCH Remi's peaceful life as a nun is interrupted when an invisible wall appears, sweeping her across her magical, shifting world like a 3D sidescroller. To escape this curse, she’ll have to break her vow of silence, not fall in love with (or murder) the chatterbox traveling with her, and confront the Mapmaker Themself—the god who created her world.
HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE X DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL bi 4 bi golden retriever boyfriend travelogue but they’re in a sidescroller god: fmk??
FIRST LINE The monastery’s map had just gone out of date again when Remi found another crack in the world.

I loved writing this with you. And no I’M a hack and YOU’RE brilliant shut up
Hugo noms are open, and I'd love to put forth "Be Kind and Rewind" for your consideration.
One year ago, on Valentine's day, Wyngraf published a story about queer/trans love that I coauthored with my lovely partner @kaitlinschmidt4.bsky.social. I'm a hack, but she made our story brilliant anyway.
I had the time of my life at Worldcon! I volunteered, met new friends, added books to my TBR list, and spoke on panels. It was a delight to nerd out in Editing as an Art Form, giggle my way through Twenty Years of Twilight, and regroup with my writing group at the end of the day. @seattlein2025.org
I’m so pleased to finally be able to share my winning NYC Midnight story with everyone.
I write about grief often—it’s how I process, and how I work though my fears. This story was no exception.
