Blender Burn Simulation!
Made with Geometry Nodes + Simulation Zones
Did you know that one can put matrices into simulation zones in Blender geometry nodes? E.g. the simulation from the screen recording produces a smooth-follow effect.
I just wrote a short tutorial on speed-dependent Grease Pencil motion trails in @blender.org (Geometry Nodes). Enjoy!

Yep, DADGAD is so convenient for Folk music! lovely tune by the way!
and here's a Getting Started guide:

I've been working on a node sharing website, which I'm happy to share today: tree-clipper.com
Select a Shader/GeoNodes/Compositor tree, and then it's a one-click import, as you can see in the demo video. The website is connected to a database, so one can even search for specific keywords.
I just wrote a script for quick .wav background noise removal.
Takes about 2 seconds to run, and completely command line based:

Under the hood, it uses the open source package "noisereduce"

I just experimented with a Geometry Nodes sharing prototype. A webpage with a thumbnail and a copy button that copies a Base64-encoded node group, which can then be pasted into Geometry Nodes using Tree Clipper (by @algebraic-ug.bsky.social, released a few days ago).
What do you think about this? 💭
Just recorded a full tutorial on how to use geonodes constrains: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JX3i...
Today, I learned about matrix multiplication in Blender.
These matrices contain info for location and rotation, and can be chained one after another.
Super useful with the new "Geometry Attribute" constrain, e.g. to make a camera follow an object, like in the screen recording
I finally cracked the Blender Racast Node. Here's a fully procedual pixel detector made in Blender
Two years ago, the donut tutorial used just texture paint, today we have got displacement maps from real scans! 🍩
Animated Vanilla pudding! 🍮

With the new release of the Blender „Blur HDRI“ Extension, blurring any textures or HDRI can be done from a simple right-click menu.
Download here:

I m using clearshotX for 30 min videos m, and it also never failed me
finally hit πthon
Fun easteregg: The @blender.org user interfaces shows up in the latested @kurzgesagt.org video!

Thanks for sharing! Will this make it also possible to install multiple versions of one package into the same virtual environment?
👋
I just released a new Blender extension for blurring images and scene backgrounds: extensions.blender.org/add-ons/blur...
Under the hood, it uses the image processing libraries PIL and OpenEXR.
Keep us updated how it works, looking forward to seeing what you re up to
Useful trick for VS Code / Cursor AI:
Make a custom settings.json file for a project scope.
E.g. I'm using this snippet to format my JSON files in a convenient way.
Today I learned that Blender supportes fuzzy search, e.g. “iop” for Instance on Points.
Useful and very stable shortcuts.
In Blender 4.5 (coming next month), it will become much easier to add Grease Pencil Text. Here's the new "Faces" option for the "Mesh to Curve" node in action.
Data driven workflows will see many improvements in Blender 4.5!
New self-contained python script (thanks to uv, @crmarsh.com ):
1. Take pdf from the download folder
2. Compress all images within that pdf to 80% quality.
Triggered by a single call:
"uv run gist.githubusercontent.com/kolibril13/5...
Be aware that running code from URLs is your own risk.
looking forward to the next video! :)
