Just finished watching the free movie Mark Felt:the Man Who Brought Down the White House. An outstanding example of courage and the power of investigation and exposure of a corrupt current president, as Nixon was driven from office. Regime change started at home.
Some of you weren't born yet but it is a story that all should know, especially in the day we are living in now.
As of now, you can watch it too on YouTube for free.
This is what courage looked like and in this day when it is so badly needed, perhaps someone will rise again. If not, at least there was a moment in US history when one man made a difference in US history.
If you've seen All the President's Men, this is the story told from the perspective of Mark Felt, alias Deep Throat and how his courage and commitment to truth finally brought an end to a corrupt President's arrogance.
The Attorney General played along and the director of the FBI covered up and closed down the investigation and Nixon won on election day. But the story doesn't stop there.
he reason I am posting here is that some of you may want to revisit what it looked like when the President commissioned former FBI and CIA agents to break into the office of the Democratic party and lied about having done so publicly.
At the moment, I am watching the movie Mark Felt: the Man Who Brought Down the White House, as a free movie on Youtube. Read on for why...

I am struck by what I think is sorrow in Dan Caine's face as Hesgeth speaks.
I need more than gloom. First the year promises as the light is changing.

What is going on with Liam? Did you see him today? When will he and his father be released?
Please, please let us know when he is released. And how he is. And how we can help from afar! Calling and writing senators and reps doesn't seem like enough!
Ben, I don't know how else to get this to you. Can you jump on this and make Liam's situation widely known? We must do something but I don't know how.

Great humorous piece with more than a little truth in it!

Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. "
this country will be the most miserable habitation in the world; because we have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion.
which assumes the language of justice and moderation while it is practising iniquity and extravagance, and displays [229] in the most captivating manner the charming pictures of candor, frankness, and sincerity, while it is rioting in rapine and insolence,
we shall have the strongest reason to rejoice in the local destination assigned us by Providence. But should the people of America once become capable of that deep simulation towards one another, and towards foreign nations,
"While our country remains untainted with the principles and manners which are now producing desolation in so many parts of the world; while she continues sincere, and incapable of insidious and impious policy,
This is a good time to face the whole of John Adams' words delivered to the 1st Brigade of 3rd Division of the Massachusetts Militia on Oct 11, 1798. Our nation, now led by amoral leadership at the executive and legislative level, have become what John Adams warned against.
Something different. Honoring the 5 springs on this land we've been given.

Two weeks ago, that number came from the officers who were present and likely estimating the numbers. I suppose that became the official number, unless someone did a more accurate count.
