Reporter: What do you make of Republicans saying that Virginia—
AOC: Wah wah wah.
We have asked Republicans for 10 years to ban partisan gerrymandering. And for 10 years, Republicans have said no.
What they’re just mad at is that they have been accustomed to a Democratic Party that rolls over.

I'm gonna hammer the BS joke to death though "yeah I'm getting a BS. In what? Oh in bullshit, that's what the BS is for"
I wanna hold group trainings at old folks homes and shit because I think about COVID and how family couldn't visit and what a fun time a grandma could have on Ravelry if she only knew how!!! Computer literacy for everybody! Not just those both into a tech world!
I'm gonna teach old people how to use the Internet and technology and help women leaving domestic violence shelters set up their security systems, basically. All for free. Most techs are men and I'm not a man so why not use that to my advantage for something good!
Going back to college to get a degree to do my small business/non-profit idea because what's 30k more in student loans for a business idea that will be at cost most of the time just to fund a non-profit
It's so crazy that we even have a free market for suppliers. Every damn month I'm having to opt out of some "neighborhood aggregate" program that will actually raise my rates. Switching suppliers raises rates because the utility companies charge supply fees! It's all a fucking scam!
This is a good down run down on the things that, in theory, should be good about the Supreme Court’s ruling today.
I’ll believe it when I see it, unless Acton wins and fires the PUCO Board on Day 1.
We also have good evidence of unions as one of the very very few social institutions that push white adults towards less racist attitudes
function of people thinking the "real" working class is manufacturing workers i fear (and letting path dependency about legacy industrial unions shape beliefs on unions as a whole)
Excited by this. Both the Today Now hosts did an incredible job.
“To say that President Trump is corrupt is to somehow understate the size, scope and magnitude of his corruption.
It is as if you were to describe a modern thermonuclear device as a ‘bomb.’ That is true enough, but it is not quite the truth. It does not capture the nature of the thing in full.”
its time we listen to Real America and their complaints about living under the tyranny of the hill people
This is such excellent reporting and in a way, I'm glad we have social media and cell phones to record genocides. While much of the reporting comes from the survivors, I think it's important that we have this footage to hold the governments that failed to account, to show them what they've allowed.
I’m choosing me and my loved ones over Hickface McYokel who would put us in a death camp if given the chance, personally - call me crazy, call me selfish, but I no longer care.
Every major generation of the game 2020, red, 2077 (and especially the somewhat unfairly maligned 3.0) is distinctly of itself, the result of letting the clock run and see where things wind up, rather than locking it all in amber for pure marketability
One of the things I like about the Cyberpunk setting, is that, unlike other big IP (star wars, marvel, etc) is that it's a place that not only has a history and historical processes, but that those historical processes are not stopped- they continue
The number of Republicans crashing out about getting nakedly gerrymandered is, unironically, a sign that we need to do more of it. You guys are correct! This shit sucks! Welcome to the party, pals! We can all stop doing it any time you like!

My most liberal idpol radlib take is that I think it's pretty bad that
right wing forces are actively intervening on behalf of the Klan with the full weight of the state legal apparatus

For what it's worth, according to polls from Bright Line Watch, D voters do broadly support democratic norm violations such as gerrymandering -- "fighting fire with fire" -- but only when Rs do them first (as they did here) and to restore balance
KASH: “I’m like an everyday American who loves his country, loves the sport of hockey, and champions my friends when they raise a gold medal and invite me in to celebrate.”
He . . . he doesn't actually think the U.S. men's hockey players are his "friends," does he?
They were allowing the people turning over the apartment to live in it while they work and I believe that they rushed the turnover bc they wanted a paying tenant. I'll forever be mad about that but I love the area I live in and don't want to move at least until I get a couple more raises
Part of why I loved this place was the nature and they just fuckin ruined it within a year of moving in AND I DONT EVEN HAVE THE LAMINATE FLOORING I WAS SHOWN BC THEY RUSHED THE TURNOVER.
Hate the apartment's lawn care policy. when I first moved in we had beautiful white clover and then something change and they now mow too frequently and too low and they killed everything and it's all just dandelions and ugly grass and empty spots where maintenance drove their trucks across it

Something that been alluded to all day but I want to make explicit is that "don't give money to random people online" is one of the basic principles of both fiscal and computer safety I was brought up with.
There are four charities I donate to at the end of the month, and two patreons I support.
