Bringing a climate lens to safeguarding in schools Schools are not just places of learning, but places where children should feel secure, supported, and able to make sense of an uncertain world. Are we equipping schools to do that?

If safeguarding is about keeping children safe, then the guidance must evolve to meet that challenges of today’s society. Right now, there is a rare opportunity to have your say on government safeguarding guidance for schools across England. Learn more on how you can have your say:

When adults avoid the topic of climate change – whether through discomfort or a fear of getting it wrong - children fill in the gaps themselves, often with anxiety and misinformation. Climate change is not a separate issue to safeguarding. #teaching #sustainability #education

Our report exposes how a lack of industry transparency, combined with problematic claims from the tech companies are leaving the UK unprepared to tackle increasing water scarcity.

The UK’s water systems face intensifying strain yet the UK Government is accelerating the expansion of AI data centres, which require vast quantities of water - a single hyperscale data centre requires enough water each day to meet the needs of around 10,000 people.

Stop Drax, Stop Dirty Data Centres! Data centres’ huge demand for energy can’t be allowed to prop up dirty polluting tree-burning power stations like Drax. We can’t sacrifice a safe climate for AI pipedreams. The business behind Drax,...

Drax, the UKs single biggest emitter, is now trying to build data centres. If this goes ahead, it'll mean more forests destroyed, communities polluted & carbon emissions.

Yesterday we had a brilliant session with the amazing ASSET Arrows - young representatives from across ASSET schools - exploring consumerism and marketing, co-designing the programme and creating Mother’s Day wind chimes from sustainable materials gathered from the forest and beach.

The programme will support children aged 9–11 to lead social action projects focused on nature, the climate and mental health and will be delivered in partnership with ASSET Education. Thank you to the @tnlcommunityfund.org.uk for making this expansion of our Good Life Schools programme possible.

Communities across the UK are taking action today and tomorrow to #StopDirtyDataCentres. They'll use energy, land + water that should be for people, not big tech.

In Brick Lane, London, they plan to build a new data centre instead of social housing 🤯

Moratorium now!
