1500 in-game objects needed to be available in 3 resolutions each, so they would scale smoothly.
They did it all by hand. All of it. A team of under 10 people.

Oh, of course. There's a lot of factors and the way Steam frontpage is only optimized for day-to-day sale of bestsellers with very little visibility for debuts is a HUGE one. But in the end our situation is mirroring the global economy. There's profit being generated, yet most of us see none.
This is HUGE. Very few indie events get the front page, nowadays. Let alone this placement!

Not that I'm happy with how Steam surfaces new games, but the decline in profit is not about the storefront getting worse. It's about our target players struggling more and more to pay rent and having little to none disposable income. Games are a luxury expense, not an essential commodity.
Not sure if this is a sign of love or madness.
