Ending Australia's great gas giveaway With the federal budget looming, a gas export tax would drive down prices and fund vital public services at a time when Australians are feeling the pinch.

The Latest Dollars & Sense pod is up. All about gas, foreign aid and a bit of housing tax stuff. Get it in your ear holes!

Pathetic take on AUKUS from Guardian journalists. Militarisation, subservience to Trump, confronting our most important trading partner, hosting nuclear armed US subs and planes, abandoning sovereignty, making us less safe, needs critical analysis not journalistic capitulation.

The arrogance and stupidity of the US is gobsmacking! They are being humiliated by Iran, a minnow compared to China, and we are willingly being co-opted into their wars of aggression,
We risk being an even bigger nuclear target, subservience to Trump and militarism is madness!

Here’s a plan to fully fund the NDIS, cancel AUKUS! That will free up $100 billion over the next decade to give people with disability the support they need.

This is so timely.

The Albanese govt has promised "reform" in the Budget.

So far their big move has been to push vulnerable people off #NDIS.

We might take them seriously if they fix school funding to ensure better outcomes for public schools.
Rather than continue to appease vested interests.

Read Randa Abdel-Fattah's Resignation Letter Slamming UQP for Caving to 'Smear Campaigns' The author's award-winning novel Discipline was published by UQP. Now, Abdel-Fattah has quit the publisher in response to its cancellation of an Indigenous children's book.

"As publishers, you have some imagination. So I want you to imagine that one day people will study this moment. They will read books chronicling how institutions and the arts responded to a genocide."

NDIS a victim of familiar scare tactics – while untouchables roll on We rarely speak about how the NDIS became a catch-all because we don’t have enough social services and supports to help people who need it.

Listening to the gas executives yesterday while also listening to the health minister explain why we just can't afford to give support to people who need it, was just one of those WTF are we doing moments. (Plus an overheard convo that stuck in my mind) www.thenewdaily.com.au/life/health/...

The scourge of short-term thinking

“The current war-induced disruption to oil transport through the Strait of Hormuz is the kind of predictable, high-consequence event that Australia’s fuel security analysts have been warning about for more than a decade,” writes John Hewson. satpa.pe/pGCaHso

Capital gains tax changes are on the table, and yet Armageddon has not arrived. Has the tide on housing turned at last? | Greg Jericho We are less than a month out from the budget and Labor’s mooted adjustments to tax concessions for property investors have barely registered

Warney's Death by COVID Jab Finally Revealed by George Christensen
NONSENSE
to close the file: "natural causes," we were told, and that was meant to be the end of the conversation.
But for Jackson Warne, the conversation never ended.
Speaking publicly about his father's death, Jackson Warne has been unequivocal that the COVID-19 vaccine was the real cause. As he stated on the 2 Worlds Collide podcast:
"I definitely think that it was involved. I don't even think saying that is controversial anymore. Even if dad had underlying health issues, I think this brought it straight to the surface."
He further explained the sense of coercion surrounding the vaccination rollout:
"He didn't want to get them, he was forced to get them for work."
Shane Warne's son was clear: government policies and workplace mandates led to his father's death. That conviction resonates with many Australians who experienced similar pressures during the pandemic era.

Fin Review whitewashing more fascist bullshit

Her plan to 'knit the country back together' is banning peacful slogans, silencing anti-genocide sentiment, and overhauling our education system with *somehow* even more ahistorical genocide justification.

Tl;dr = Thought control and fascism

No excuse for not taxing gas super profits, cutting the CGT and -ve gearing on housing and abandoning the madness of spending $368B on nuclear subs.
Cutting NDIS expenditure, subsidising multinationals, rich investors and the arms industry is not my understanding of Labor values!

Australia is not - yet - as entangled with Palantir as the UK.

But thanks to the Albanese govt, we are moving in that direction. The Defence dept already has several secretive contracts with this fascist firm.

Time to take the fight to Palantir. #auspol

It's not just the turtles in trouble. The Gwydir Wetlands should be teeming with life right now, including with more than 100 different bird species such as the endangered Australian Painted Snipe, one of the rarest birds in Australia. There may be just a few hundred Painted Snipes left in the wild.
