Update: looks like it'll actually run slightly behind Jones, implying an even funnier type of voter
looks like we'll be running maybe a point and a half below Hashmi, point and a half above Jones, implying a very funny type of voter

I literally just finished writing an op-ed about this, hoping to publish in the Cav Daily

Doesn’t posting the ballot void it? Or is that only if it’s filled in
One of those “we talked to 5 people in an Arkansas diner” articles but there’s a [sic] in every sentence they quote
tbc I think it's way less the case now but the number of guys my age that say they were sliding down the alt right pipeline and got saved by contrapoints around 2016-17 are so numerous at this point as to be worthy of parody
This guy wasn't 15 is 2013
Just got brutally bikemogged by @nat4cville.bsky.social going down rugby. Can’t believe she’d do this to a constituent
Guy who is a YIMBY exclusively as a means of harming landlords. "Honestly I really hate the idea of getting any new neighbors but those rent-seekers ain't gonna suffer on their own!"
Trump coming to town is a great reminder to go vote Yes so we can get that spineless worm John McGuire out of office!
I'm sure he would've been very supportive if they protested *this* time!

"i could probably pilot a ship through the straight of hormuz" -next big thing 80% of men secretly believe about themselves
Incredible type of guy: the president can unilaterally start wars but requires congressional authority to stop them
A friend just sent me this absolute banger
This is effectively a 30% increase in the gas tax, paid directly to the Ayatollah Khamenei (the new one)
Typical ship holds about 2M barrels (I wonder how they got the number) so this is basically a $1 surcharge per barrel, probably passed directly to the consumer. 42 gallons per barrel which yields about 20 gallons of gas, so 5 extra cents per gallon at the pump thanks to our brain genius in chief!
~120 boats go through daily (though that'll drop with the fee) so this is basically a billion dollars every week they weren't getting before the war, bravo Mr. President, you have crippled our enemies
"we used to build houses sturdy, my aunt lives in a building constructed in 1915!"
There's so much selection bias going on in peoples' evaluation of what old houses are like that it poisons a lot of the discourse in this space
Balencibros we’re so back

I know it's all downstream of information ecosystems promoting ragebait, but there is something to be said for the profundity of human empathy to be willing to say that the economy is doing poorly merely because some people on your screen seem to be suffering. Real Rawlsian Maxim hours.
I'm sympathetic to the Yglesias take that politicians kinda got screwed into taking increasingly unpopular stances via these litmus tests... but like, this is just a *popular* position. It's tacking to the center on an issue a great deal of republicans agree with us on!
