Yes!
A billionty years ago I used to goof around with DPaint doing things like this to draw waterslides.

I wonder how long their website will stay up now that they've alienated all three flavours of computer person.
Maybe they can run it with AI!
*laughs uncontrollably*
most of the time you don’t want true randomness and/or simulation in a game. you think you do but you’re wrong and will get mad at us if you get it.
RAM and GPU prices: going up
Cool game devs writing normal code:
📣 Screen Australia announces $1.4 million of funding across 26 games projects in the latest round of games funding. The 8 gamemakers travelling to BitSummit 2026 as part of the Future Leaders Delegation have also been announced. A massive congrats to all 🥳

It's so fucken weird. I love how the ABC framed it as $4m in fines to claw back $7k in revenue.
Lol. At uni I sometimes hung out with the debate society / law school crowd despite being involved in neither, and watching them play Mafia and try to persuade each other using exactly zero evidence was the most tedious shit I've ever sat through.
I'm sure it can be fun in other circumstances tho 🙂
Good morning! I wrote a book! @flantz.bsky.social called it “the definitive history of procedural generation in video games” which is just about the best thing that can happen to a book. Tell your friends, enemies and book-loving acquaintances!
[groggy voice] Why aren't James Pond or Qwak on there?
It's kinda horrifying reading this article, checking out the painter's work, and realising that in this "idealized American landscape" there are almost never any people.
A miserable little pile of secrets
Ta! I exclusively play DRM for gem runs 'cos I find it so much fun having to race over there and then recover. It's such a good mechanic!
Changing the metaphor to a 💣 helped explain why it was mandatory and meant I could show and explain its time limit as altitude.
Could have been an egg tho.
Cheers! Also darn. Trackpad is not easy!
A screenshot of Farbs Jr's best run stats, showing 18 seconds and 19 frames on the clock.
Can someone please beat Farbs Jr's score at this? He's kicking my arse.

Yes! My current hardware target is an obsolete Chromebook I picked up a few years ago from a tech recycler 😁 They wanted $5 but I talked them up to 10.
Minishoot' Adventures - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition key art image
Minishoot’ Adventures surprise dropped on the Switch + Switch 2 today.
If you didn't play it on Steam, trust me, that game is an absolute treeeeeat. Twin-stick shooter + one of the better metroidvanias.
An honour to include an early demo on my Mixtapes. Hit it up! 🚀
Diagram of the animation career path, illustrated with a winding road on which Cyriak joyfully skips as he navigates his creative journey. Places of note along this circuitous route include "detour via job centre", "boring office job" and "making loads of weird videos". The journey ends with Cyriak striding purposefully into the future, though his hair takes a different path
Diagram of "The Process Rainbow", dividing the creative process into a spectrum of "making it up as i go along". The spectrum ranges from "no idea what I'm doing" (red), to "kind of know what i'm doing" (yellow), to "totally know what i'm doing" (blue). These categories are ordered along a vertical axis according to their "messing about level", from "not much" (blue) to "loads" (red). The horizontal axis measures "weirdness level" with blue being "normal-ish" and red being "crazy shit"
Did a talk recently and thought I should share a couple of slides from my presentation that perhaps warrant further study.
One day, there will be a new Pokémon Pinball announced.
One day.
immensely proud my taxes are paying for this content
Wishlisted! This looks very cool.
Are you doing the thing where one of the swarm characters behaves a little bit differently to the others and there's a bonus for identifying them? That'd be cooool....
Our next game is Verminsteel!
You're a bird with a broadsword, kicking thousands of fascists so hard they fly into the sun
PLEASE go wishlist it, it'll make me really happy and help me stop low-key panicking and stuff: store.steampowered.com/app/4352280/... #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev
Hard agree. Governing is like joining the police force - you should only be allowed to do it if you don't want to.
Seeing my kid and his friends roll from one MP game to the next has been pretty eye opening, and it's cool that it's just a context for hanging out. I'd be all into it (and I even did make a multiplayer game) but the ~2x programming cost is huge.
Bonus mention of #gamedev and #indiedev here 'cos in 2014/2015 disingenuous online campaigns tore apart our own communities, we know how bad it can be, and I reckon a lot of us are keen to push back.
Australians:
I'm pretty sure all of us have lost at least one teenage son to the manosphere, parent or grandparent to populist conservatism, or friend or peer to post-truth fringe beliefs.
Please, pop your name on here and help them find a way back.
