WIP this long weekend

I’m getting ready for my first fashion show tomorrow ❤️ I got this jacket finished just in time and I love it. It’s an upcycle and I added the checkerboard patchwork, bird and ferns and more. So excited to share my creations and hope they bring some delight to the crowd!

Recently at a class bday party at the arcade my daughter and her buddy kept going back to this clown game. I mentioned that they must really like it and they told me it freaked them out but they couldn’t seem to get away from it… me too kids, me too 🤡 😱 😂

Yes!!! I don’t know about you but the energy in this space is soooo much less murky/sticky than other socials.

I’m going to send a pm when I can sit at my laptop because it’s actually pretty integral to magical work but I feel like often the approach is kinda sideways in pop culture witchcraft.

I made pants with wolfy cuffs and ruffles… so obviously I need to make a shirt with crows and wolf.. right?

Which is why it feels fake.

I also think that the way it is taught with the whole new age movement is a thinly veiled reference and function of the imperialist doctrine of 19th “manifest destiny” where the magical components are distorted for personal gain without devotion or humility to interconnection of beings/energies.

In the midst of worry, sadness and loss, I’m finding words for new stories and paintings under my old brush. Fabric and beads keep my fingers busy and I hope that each small act of creation and community can somehow put a small cosmic stone of goodness on the balance.

It’s real but I think there’s a lot of nuance and the new age version is definitely simplified.

I watched it on Hulu and it was very well done.

If you can, make art today as resistance. Even if it’s just rearranging the food on your plate to make a fun picture or a few words written in your notes. In creating we tap into that essence of the universal creation. When so much is being destroyed, find ways to simply create to center ❤️

I mean it’s day 3 and the epic 💩 dump they unloaded is real! I remember too that we are taking in a lot of unclear energies, parasitic stuff while keeping up to date. Going to really strengthen those clearing and grounding practices because this in gonna be a bumpy ride.

Finding ways to ground during times of great change is going to be important. I found my mind spiraling today and made sure to use cedar smoke and remind myself of how powerful and present my my ancestors are on this land. How are you all coping?
