If and when Trump finally goes with his sycophants this needs to happen in America

You seem to want to pin this on the PM. Appointments before vetting are not uncommon. Simon Case's advice was just that. Even if they had followed it, whose to say they would have been told he failed.

Again I disagree. We are there to support the government to deliver its mandate, but that involves being honest. To not tell the PM because it would be embarrassing for him is absurd.

We will never know the truth because he wasn't given the option. I fear that the CS in many cases are more interested in pleasing people than doing their job

It's not difficult to say he didn't pass without giving details of why.

As a CS I disagree, we need to do better. He should have been told no matter the consequences. The country comes first.

TWO things i found on Threads that made me stop and think.

1. Confirmation that the media is biased against Labour and are working actively to bring it and SKS down
2. No surprise. Now imagine how Farage, the media darling, or any of his scummy crew would fare.

It's not stopped just amended. It was a good idea just very badly handled initially. I don't think many people think comfortably off pensioners should be receiving money towards their heating.

When Zac decides what his policies actually are and they are costed, I'll take a look. In the meantime all I see is idealist student politics. I'm no sycophant of Starmer but believe as a government they are delivering. They inherited an appalling mess and have made a difference already.

They are also reviewing the break clauses with Palantir in 2027.

That's why I'm not listening

This is what frustrates me, if you actually look at their record and what they promised they are on track and delivering left of centre policies. However even those on the left can't see it. The media has spread so much misinformation that we are all being brainwashed.

Take a look at the legislation passed over the last 2 years and tell me which aren't left of centre.

Stupid comment, I haven't but I'm a civil servant

My experience is you are offered the job first then the security checks take place. That's certainly what happened to me.

Evgeny Lebedev: Ministers withhold security advice over Lords seat Labour accuses ministers of a cover-up over the Russian-born media mogul's appointment to the Lords.

In light of Starmer being open and transparent over the security clearance of Mandelson, only fair that Badenoch now releases the advice surrounding Lord Lebedev. We still don’t know why the son of a former KGB agent is in the House of Lords. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-poli...

One of my cats sits either on the stairs or on a chair in the lounge starring out the window, watching for me to come home.

That's true but it's not because they aren't delivering but because we aren't being told. The media barons want them out, they aren't rich enough yet. If you look beyond the headlines they've achieved much in the first 18 months. And yes the Guardian is anti Labour.

I accept the mauling is inevitable, and apart from media hysteria I don't believe it will impact his premiership, as it didn't other PMs.

I work in the civil service, it doesn't surprise me at all that they kept this to themselves. And as for the Guardian they jump on as many bandwagons as the Mail. Consistently anti Labour.

He is better but he took a calculated risk to appoint someone who could handle Trump. Trump is not normal. It was distasteful but the majority thought it a risk worth taking. The point I'm making is their outrage now is hypocrisy.

But they applauded it as did Farage and most of the right wing media.

There is nothing we can do to save the local elections. I don't see Starmer taking us into the next election but he deserves a couple more years to get things done. That then leaves Labour a year to appoint someone new, but not long enough for the media to destroy them.
